Great and funny guy, only issue I have is his tests. There are 3 tests which take up nearly 40% of grade, and they are a lot more difficult than the other work you do in the class.

Dr. Richard Zack is passionate about insects & that reflects in his quality as a prof. No textbook or reading. Attendance is highly recommended because he will create exam questions in class & says to make note of the exact question. Fun & entertaining, lots of extra cred, occasionally brings insects to show case, gives study guides w answer keys.

His tests are a bit difficult but he literally tells you the questions during the lectures (he'll say something like, "Mosquitos vector malaria. Write that down, that's going to be on your test", but for every test question). He's really funny, especially near the end of the year. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you show up you'll pass.

He's very funny, and very passionate about his work. You can tell he loves his job and everything about it. However he's very heavy on the lectures and not everything he puts on tests are on the slides, some questions are just based off of things he's said. Attendance not mandatory but necessary. Fairly difficult class due to memorization of info.

I'm a freshman this year, so coming into WSU I was super nervous of getting scary teachers. Dr. Zack is m favorite prof I've met so far. He keeps thinks interesting and is so passionate about what he does. Super cool guy, super cool teacher.

Seriously LOVED this class. He is a great teacher, if you attend lecture and take a few notes. He makes it VERY clear what is going to be on the test. Easy tests, but you still learn a lot. He is a relaxed guy, and is lenient with deadlines. He also brings in live bugs, which is cool.

One of, if not THE best Professor at the school! Seriously this class is incredibly fun, interesting, and FULL of hot girls. Take this class even if you don't need to. Great Prof, loves the subject, and gets students to really enjoy it. Study for the exams and pay attention, but the latter shouldn't be hard, because of how interesting he makes it.

He is very enthusiastic about his class. He does not use the 'textbook' it's more of just a general guide book if you become interested. A few projects, but they are relatively easy. Show up to class and get the quiz points. Take his class!!! You will not regret it.

Zack is one of my favorite profs ever at WSU... He is a BOSS. Great humor. I had little interest in insects before taking this class, but he keeps lectures interesting. Very reasonable with grades. If you gotta take a 3 credit science, take this course.

Prof explains things well, and cares that his students fully understand the material. If you attend most lectures, you do not need the book, just take good notes and you can do great. Offers lots of extra credit, take advantage of it!
