this professor overall was good. really sweet guy and really good at connecting concepts to examples to make the course easy to understand. however, for the tests, basically all of it is specific questions from the text and multiple choice questions are worth 2 points. very easy to get a bad mark on tests even after studying for hours.

Overall, Rick Linden has a lot of knowledge with the course material (he wrote the textbook for it), however his exams can be challenging to study for (multiple choice/essay based). The class itself was very interesting, and group discussions helped keep everyone engaged. He marks exams within 5-7 days, and answers emails promptly. Would recommend.

Alright prof. Lectures are dry. 2 tests and a final but not cumulative, plus discussions groups. His multiple choice questions are worth 2 points each so super easy for your mark to plummet. Discussion groups were the best part of this class

This class requires a decent amount of reading involving articles. Not all of them connect at times but most of them are interesting so not too bad to read. This prof is a pretty good one, I've taken a few classes with him before! Tests are pretty fairly graded and he definitely knows what he's talking about and adds in his own personal experience.

Professor Linden is really knowledgable about criminology. He posts all his notes online so attending class isn't mandatory. I found his lectures to be somewhat boring, his exams are comprised of multiple choice and an essay question.

Excellent Prof. Really knows what he's talking about and clearly loves what he does. Lots of reading with the extra assigned readings being either articles or chapters from other texts or books. Lectures are very interesting, although not really necessary as he posts his notes, with current examples of the topics being covered.

Best professor I've ever had. Makes lectures interesting by giving examples and talking about actual crimes and how they relate to concepts instead of just reading off a powerpoint. Tests are quite easy, all you have to do is pay attention in lectures and do all the required readings and then review your notes briefly before tests for at least an A

I had this prof for a Criminology class, I didn't find attending lectures to be mandatory for this class, but you have to do a lot of textbook reading as well as articles. If you don't read, you won't do well in his class. He's very easygoing, nice to talk to during office hours and is understanding if you approach him with questions.

This course required a lot of reading for the tests. He kept it interesting by adding videos, and had a couple guest lecturers. Requires a lot of time outside of class. Not exactly a walk in the park. But he's incredible helpful if you need to ask questions - he's a total genius at what he does.

Great guy but the course is harder. Be prepared to do a lot of reading, but I strongly suggest going to see him if you feel uneasy about your tests, he is great to deal with in person and is most helpful.

By far the hardest course around. Avoid hands down, it's a really strange class. There are so many lengthy readings that you have no clue what to review ever... Really difficult marker and really hard course. Opposite of a GPA booster. Not even a class where hard work will save you.

The class was very interesting on the very first day! I'm ok with the teaching instruction of Prof. Linden! The mid-terms were alright but you have to read tons and only get to have one question per chapter plus the extra readings! Love the criminal stories at the start of class! Approachable and helpful when asked! Overall a great class and prof!

The guy is a genius, and quite interesting, but his tests require you to basically read several 15+ page articles only to be asked one question on per article

Well first off; an important thing you must do is--->READ THE TEXT BOOK.There is a lot of material in this class and he doesn't cover all text book. The reserved readings are long and boring however, the criminal stories he tells during class are pretty funny. He's a good guy, easy to approach, and emails you right away.Just be ready to study...

He's a nice guy, but there is a TON of reading...there were probably 12 packages of reserve readings that you had to get from the library....and most of them were 20 pages at MINIMUM. Oh, and you have to really know the textbook well. The chapters are very long and he doesn't cover much in class.

Very difficult professor. He is an impossible grader, it is so hard to study for this course. Study + Go to class = fail. Lots of people didn't do well in his class. He's a very nice person and readily available if you need to see him on office hours, but that likely won't help you a whole lot. I don't recommend this if you aren't majoring in soc
