Took his online community policing and had to order a 10 year old book that was only available from the publishers. They took so long to send it that by the time most of the class received the book it was spring break and half the semester was gone, his remedy? I took AOJ 240 & 206 with Professor. Michelson and he is the best teacher to learn from he is honest and very helpful. He makes cases very easy to understand. I highly recommend AOJ240 online.

Great Professor! Work load is pretty standard and he is very clear on grading criteria/what is expected of you. Responds to emails and is always willing to help. I would definitely recommend this teacher!

Comment:

Rick Michelson is very passionate about what he does and it reflects in the way he teaches. He is a great professor who makes things easy for students. His main goal is for you to learn something and get something out of the class rather than stress you out with loads of work. The weekly quizzes and final were easy if you use the textbook.

He was a really great instructor and I would definitely take his class again. Very clear on what he wanted you to do. Even dropped the outline of the case study paper since no one did it. Not really any surprises from this guy and lets you know ahead of time when things are due. It especially helps for an online class.

He was great! He made sure that the material we were covering was relevant to the world around me. It was very cool to read his constant emails about wars, and he would ask for our opinions which is what the discussion boards were on super easy A. The tests were easy and straight out of the book.

Super easy online class. You can take the quizzes twice after looking at the answers, so if you're getting less than 100% on the quizzes you're doing it wrong. The discussion boards are also extremely easy. For reference, if for some reason you had to take the entire course in one day, you could. It's that little/easy of work.

Taken him for two other classes. Very clear on what he asks for. Grade consists of a weekly quiz (very easy) that gives you two chances to get the best score, a case analysis paper that's very easy and on a case you choose (as long as approved), and professionalism (based on completed assignments as they count as your attendance). Great professor.

Criminal Law class was very easy online. Weekly quizzes, a case analysis and a 50 question final. Got an A by simply doing everything on time. Textbook was written by the professor so that was a little intimidation factor. Do the work and it is an easy A.

Had him for both lectures and online. lectures are boring but informative. He likes to tell stories(some interesting and some not)but its entertaining. Test and assignments are easy! Papers are easy! Online: recommend it better than lectures. ALL his assignments are online anyways. Just keep up with the readings & assignments and you'll be fine!

I took him for AOJ 204 in class and AOJ 240 online. In class he tells you what is important hence write it down. Online he can be quite slow posting things but gives you plenty of time to do it. On papers do exactly what he wants and you will get a A. Easy A for both!

Horrible proffesor. Has no communication what so ever with his online classes. Was told I did not have to take the final exam or final project due to my grade so I took adavantage and didnt do it. He dropped my grade down for not doing the final. After multiple emails to him and the ta my grade was fianlly brought back up. very unorganized teacher.

He's such an easy to approach instructor; the publications he chooses are informative with lots of web resources and recommended to retain for future LE (law enforcement) use. He's always up to date w/current events and incorporates his knowledge into classroom teachings. He is easy to approach on assignment extensions/very understanding!Great Man

Good teacher. His ta is on a total power trip. Sends threatening announcement out saying if you do not do a 25 point assignment you will not pass the class. I didn't think that was allowed but apparently the ta thinks it is. Other than that, straight forward class, easy A but he needs to ditch the power trippin ta before she gets him fired!

If you want an easy class, definately take any of Mr. Michelson's online classes. Just don't expect him to be an active part of them . . . at all. He doesn't monitor the discussion boards or return emailed questions . . . at all. But like I said, as long as you're not the type who needs help with the material, his classes are beyond easy.
