Rick is a gentle cloud of a man. The class was challenging and requires a lot of work, and I wish it had been more structured, but Rick is SO easy to talk to inside and outside of class. He is very sensitive and empathetic and helped me to pass the class during an extremely difficult period. He is extremely caring.

Rick is one of the best people I have ever met. He really wants you to succeed and values your opinions. He's fairly radical and is very against imposing things like papers being a certain length. He has a tendency to go on and on, but his class is worth taking. You will learn about yourself.

Rick is a great guy. While is teaching is not traditional, it will push toward growth and you'll learn alot. He can be hard to get into contact with (except in person) at times but does really want you to succeed.

Is all about the personal connection with the students and student's connection with each other, and made me look at the world a bit less bitterly while losing none of my resolve to change it. Also nourished my burgeoning feminism. Really great guy.
