This woman is anything but a satisfactory teacher. She discourages students that have other majors than math. She assigns an absurd amount of work and will take off points if your handwriting isn't neat or if you don't staple it. She does a lousy job at teaching the material so she pressures students to show up to her office hours to learn it.

Very nice and intelligent but an absolutely terrible professor. You have to teach everything to yourself and are expected to know all of it in class. Gives an absurd amount of homework, which is all graded as if it were tests. Makes me want to switch majors.

King is very enthusiastic about math but this was one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken. If you have the opportunity to switch do it IMMEDIATELY! She is an incredibly confusing teacher, the textbook is awful and I can guarantee you will spend the majority of your time doing her copious amounts of extremely challenging homework.

Terrible. I am a math major and I have sampled quite a few math professors. Never before have I felt the severe frustration that I have with King. She does not help at all during office hours and assigns too much work (which is consistent throughout all her classes). You better really love math or else she can ruin it for you. Overall, poor quality

King was such a bad professor that I switched my major because I did not want to take another class under her. She does not teach anything but rather has you read the textbook. Do you know how hard it is to learn math from a textbook? Her office hours are only during other classes. If you take a class with her drop it if you have any other classes.

if you are looking to take Calc 2 without having to do much like i was, do not take it with professor king. seriously, do it with another professor, she explains theorems like shes teaching to a bunch of 1st graders, and she should stick to the textbook

She couldn't explain things clearly and she was very excited about teaching the course but che didn't teach it well. She went to Korean to pick up her baby so we had Critchlow for a week... and I understood everything that week and once Professor King came back I was just lost again. And she was incredibly unavailable, even when I wanted an appt.

Professor King is definitely an acquired taste. You need to have the time to devote to the class and, equally as important, the time to go to office hours. You should be set with any of her classes if you actually try, keep up with the work, and go to office hours as much as you can.

Because of Professor King, I changed my major to mathematics. She believes in her students and if you try, she will do her best to help you! If you do your work in her classes, then you will do well. She does assign a lot of homework, but the only way to succeed in math (unless you are a genius) is to practice and thats all she wants from you!

I had heard Professor King was a very tough professor before taking a class with her.The subject matter was often very difficult but she was very patient and I could tell she was trying hard to be as clear as possible.Grading is tough but fair.Her office hours were extremely helpful-I got the feeling her students were very important to her.
