Rick is a great lecturer and a nice person. He will help you when you need it and his class and labs are fun. Show up to class so you don't miss notes. He's funny, so even if you have him early in the morning you'll be entertained. Great class and great teacher!

Rick is one of the best professors that I have taken in college yet. I went into this class extremely intimidated, especially because I believed my strengths were in Stagecraft rather than Costuming. He makes this class so easy to understand, and I had nothing to fear. The U of A costuming department is amazing because of Sassy Rick at the helm.

Rick is an amazing teacher and you can tell that he loves what he does. Tests are 100% what is discussed in class and honestly you may not even want to miss a lecture because of how enthusiastic he is. His use of costume pieces to demonstrate the concept he is discussing helps a lot with the material, and is great for visual and tactile learners.

Rick is a very helpful, engaging, and funny professor. Probably the best professor I've had. The lectures are often supplied with tips and anecdotes from his experience as a professional costumer. Tests are a bit challenging but still easy to get an A in the class. Lab is taught by patient grad students and is 2 1/2 hours long but not too difficult

Awesome awesome awesome professor. He keeps class very fun and easy. As long as you take notes you will know exactly what you need to know for the midterm and final exam, and the lab instructors are pretty helpful too. I love sassy Rick.

Rick is an amazing professor! He has so much energy and sassiness! His lectures are entertaining and very clear, just make sure you go to class as he doesn't post his notes and he takes attendance. Labs are taught by grad students and have a nice flow to them. They just get kinda long sometimes. Totally recommend Sassy Rick though!!

Tailoring, we learned to do pockets and we made a tailored vest and pants, You do need to buy some drafting tools which were a little pricy, but the book required was cheap on amazon. You also need material. As usually, i learned SO much from sassy rick, excellent class for the moderate/advanced sewer.

Funny and awesome guy. Very helpful. Goes out of his way to explain and clarify. You need to buy the notes for lab($5) which includes an exam study guide which are cake if you read over your notes. No D2L use. Labs are mandatory. This class if easy even if you have never sewn before.

I have no interest in costuming whatsoever, but I loved this class simply because of the professor. I paid attention to every word he said because he was funny, interesting, and clear.
