If you're easily offended and don't like figuring things out yourself, then don't take this class. If you enjoy problem solving or have personal projects you want to apply ArcGIS too, then it's a great class. There are no thumbs up or pats on the back when you do your work right. And if you don't need those things, it's a very satisfying course.

Great professor, I cannot agree with most reviews. He prepares you well for an engaging career. For those that are looking for an easy course, this is definitely not the one to take. He challenges students and expects more than good work, for him to be impressed it should be challenging and graduate level.

One of the few professors at this university who actually requires the students to think for themselves. Most students are used to the coddling provided by the majority of the professors and find his classes difficult. He gives me hope that CSUMB will raise it's standards.

classes are great, taken many of them. enjoyed them all. The work is very challenging, fun and you learn a lot. Rikk, however, is not easily approachable. Has a tendancy to make you feel as if you should be able to read his mind and gives NO feedback.
