Dr. Hart is BY FAR the best professor I have had at Furman. I say this not because it wasn't a ridiculously hard class, but because he is so passionate about what he does. He loves to teach, and you can tell. Whether you like history or not, you can't avoid catching the interest that this man has in it. Best professor at Furman, hands down.

The most interesting class I have taken all year; he is a true teacher- drawing connections between all aspects of a time period - especially with art. It doesn't seem like a class, more like he's telling you a story, and he is a trivia master, which really keeps your attention. You'll take a LOT of notes, but he doesn'twaste anytime,andnobusywrk

Great lecturer; always willing to answer any question/repeat any information! Good sense of humor and allows students to take advantage of espcially beautiful days by dismissing class 2 or 3 times during the semester. Prepares you well for tests, and essays are graded fairly. Amazing class--best professor I've had yet!

Great teacehr, he is a furman grad so he knows how stuff here is and will compensate, his tests aren;t that bad just some IDs and an essay, I would definately recommend taking him for HST 11.

An inspiration to all his students-the only real prof at furman-class is interesting & applicable to life outside of the bubble...WOW an actual teacher!breaks up the monotony of lecture noets with music & pics along with giving you days off to work on papers, etc never got burned out-the only prof here worth your money and loans; best i've ever had

He's a VERY nice guy who is knowledgeable about history and passionate about teaching. He's willing to help you in any way he can. His tests are very lecture based, so you do not need to read the text. Tests are very fair if you study your notes. Only out of class work were a few papers.

Hands down, the best prof that I've had at Furman. His lecutres are well organized, and his class is always exciting. His tests arent overwhelmingly easy, but extremely fair with no surprises. You know exactly what you need to study goin into the test. DO NEXT MISS AN OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE THIS CLASS!

Dr. Hart is the man. Theres no history teacher that is more fun and interesting than he is. tests are straight from the notes and the essays are very doable. Definitely take this class, even if you get it at 8 in the mornin, its worth it.

ROCKS MY NUTS OFF!! the best teacher at furman by far, if you don't like hist, you can fantasize about him, but don't go off into lala land too much cause his tests come straight from his notes. he is fair, notes are organized and serve as text, to the point, and funny.don't leave furman without him

I am a Bio major and I hate history but his class has been one of the best ones I have taken at Furman. He made history actually fun to go to. He is a really nice guy and helpful, but tests are comprehensive and there are a lot of lecture notes each day.

Great lecturer and overall a really nice guy. Very sympathetic to individual needs, always willing to hear you out. Tests are fair. You don't have to read the textbook if you take decent notes. I would highly recommend Hart to anyone taking a history.
