definitely take her if you have the opportunity. even if you are a really bad public speaker, if you follow the structure of what she wants you to do, you'll do fine. if you do your outlines exactly like she wants, and listen to the little things she says you're golden. she is a difficult grader though, and expects a lot out of you.

Robbie is really nice. The class is not hard, the only annoying thing is having to write two outlines for one speech. The test are 50 multiple choice questions and can be passed without buying the book, as long as you go to class. She is a little quirky but generally nice and helpful. I would take her over Jenny Crawford who chooses favorites.

She gives a lot of ectra credit opportunity BUT her grading is VERY hard. She does not like to give out A's. The Tests can be tricky if you do not know specific examples of each concept.

She gives study guides for the tests, then adds things and doesn't tell you. She teaches for the first month or so, then takes a little 2 month break where she has "group assignments" where we teach the class ourselves and pretty much put each other to sleep at 4 in the afternoon. Horrible class, impossible to sit through, but shes a nice prof

no attendance policy. Kind of a fun class. Prof. Polston does a great job of having appropraite expectations for an intro class. Grading scale is a 91 and up for A. but for some reason, I keep getting 90s even though she hasn't complained about my speeches at all.

She's a good teacher. No attendence policy. 5 speeches. 2 tests. The speeches get better and less nervewracking. She gives study guides for the tests and the infomation comes directly from the text. A good teacher for a beginning speaker.

She gives study guides for what is to be on the tests, and then adds extra stuff last minute, it seems. She has unclear wording on tests and there is no motivation to go to class. Not worth it!

Not understanding dealing with absences. Many of the things she mentioned in class often contradicted the textbook. She made class boring and not interesting. Tricky wording on tests and assignments.

Prof. Polson is the reason I became a COMM major. She really took time to explain exactly what you did wrong in your speeches and how to correct for the next speech. I really learned a lot, but she is a tough grader. Work hard and you will EARN an A.

Class was boring but what class is interesting at 8am. No way you could fail this course I miss my fair share of days and assignments. Test were a little confusing and lectures were boring but other then that she was an ok teacher. Never take this course at 8am and you would be ok.

Professor Polston is awesome. She's such a nice woman, and is willing to take time out of class to help. Kind of a tough grader on presentations though. She's very clear about what's on the test and gives you a study guide to help you out. One of the best professors I've ever had.
