Seems like a nice guy, but his tests are impossible. You'll be very confused when you see the questions aren't really relevant to the main concepts talk about in class. Every question he makes is minimal 8/10 difficulty. Midterm average was 2% above a D+ so get ready to study! Highly suggest you find another prof to teach you this course.

Very nice guy but his tests are hard af. Also not great at teaching the material as he tends to mumble a lot so try to sit close to the front

Not the best teacher, but it's honestly such an easy course that it doesn't matter anyways. Literally nobody should need any rounding of grades in this course because if you didn't get an A+ anyways, something is wrong. Ability to read not required.

from what I heard it's his first time teaching this course, the main problem with him, in my opinion, is that he does not have clear expectations for his content, for example, he did not give any practice problems like Lewis did. his style of teaching was average. very nice man though but still. future students should go to his office and ask Q'S

It's his first time teaching this course and the guy is a mess. He's revamped the labs to make it harder and then when people started doing good he told the TAs to start marking harder. His slides are terrible and I basically just taught myself the course. Oh and he's pretty condescending which is always a trait you want your prof to have!

This class taught by him was a joke. His notes are riddled with mistakes (grammar, spelling and concept). He never finishes his thought. Its his first time teaching this course and he is lab coordinator, so our labs are due three days late but if your lab is Wednesday or later you get extra days since he counts the weekend as 24 hours.

He is really passionate about what he teaches, but he talks so fast that it's hard to even get what he is saying. He does good demos in class though! He is approachable out of class, but his lecture assignments are hard.

A very nice prof who cares for your success. However BIOL 241 is a course you have to put in effort for. There is a lot of material so make sure to keep on top of your work and do the assigned readings (they're very helpful!). The textbook isn't necessary if you do his readings.

Very caring and has student's needs in mind. He started using a laser pointer at the request of a student and made a student rep group so he gets input from students on what he can do to improve his lectures. Although sometimes he skips through the slides too fast, he has amazing demos that keep the class engaged. A very nice guy!

He talks in his lectures extremely fast. I would recommend printing off the slides before attending the lecture. The pre-readings notes he makes are the bomb. Take this guy's class and you are set on the pathway to success, my friend.

His lecture is a mess but his reading notes are like a gift from heaven. If I were to take his course again, I would do it purely for his reading notes. I felt that he has a hard time seeing things from a student's perspective as a heavily-experienced aged professor ought to. I can't blame him. His lectures are double the pace as the other prof's.

Dr. E is a great prof! He posts his notes beforehand and gives many examples. He also have announcement at the start of each class, reminding you what quizzes or when assignments are due, which is greatly appreciated. He does expect you to do readings beforehand though, so be prepared! Overall, I would definitely take any class with Dr. E again

Great instructor. He plots out his lectures in a very logical manner. Goes over key concepts a few times to drive home. He does ask for and requires participation which helps in keeping lectures engaging. Overall I learned a lot and although I wouldn't say the class was easy I wouldn't say it was hard either. Would take again.

He has good knowledge of the course. He's really helpful when you approach him and has great timing for office hours. An issue however are questions that are a jack in the box that aren't fair game on exams. Also his slides are all made by him on power point and need improvement. If you're not a BCEM major don't take this course, it's not worth it.

Dr. Edwards is obviously brilliant. And he posts readings (that he makes) that are extremely helpful. However, they are littered with errors and typos. Watch for that in the actual practice problem and class examples as well. Tests were so tough and he seemed to always throw on a question that was barley discusses in class to "make you think". Ugg.

Extremely nice and approachable. Interesting lectures, but sometimes hard to follow due to the challenging nature of the class. His test are very difficult, you must be very prepared, and know every detail, even things not throughly covered in class. He expects you to extrapolate knowledge to new scenarios.

I took BCEM 471 and 403 with Dr. Edwards. Although he made us work hard, you get the grade you deserved in that class. He expects a lot out his students, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I noticed that most of the bad ratings for this guy are from the arts students taking BIOL 205 ... he is a great prof but he will make you work!
