Terrible class. Bechtel is very opinionated and there is no room for dissagreement. Lectures are terribly boring and abstract making them hard to follow. Tests are difficult due to how abstract they are. He expects you to memorize all 25 chapters of the textbook he wrote. He does curve thank god since the highest score on exam 1 was 33/50!

Oh my god, this is the most biased teacher you will ever encounter. He lectures out of his book but hardly ever looks up for students' questions or comments. I would fall asleep almost every class, his tone was very monotonous and quiet. The buzzing lights were louder than him! His tests were very flawed, the questions vague and confusing.

I do not generally like to complain about teachers, because there is usually a way to succeed in a course AND learn something. I am in this class right now, and I am doing neither. I have never lost interest in a class before, but I am not being stimulted in this class--and there is no way to study for the exams other than look at old tests. Ugh

This was the worst class I have ever taken! The lectures are completely unorganzied as are the tests. The book is horrible and has no structure either. There are only 3 tests, two worth 50 points and a final worth 100. I do not recommend taking this class. I don't know a single person who gained any sort of knowledge from this class.

I took his Environmental Psychology class 7 years ago and I STILL REMEMBER HOW TERRIBLE HE WAS. He was intellectually dishonest, defensive, aloof, and lazy. He alternated between being boring and being alarmist.

let me warn you now, even if this is the only class opening you can fit into your schedule. DO NOT TAKE IT. I wasted 2000+ of out of state tuition on this man. this class has not helped me in my major at all. It is a waste of time.

Bechtel is outdated, and lack luster. He continually cites his work from the mid-60's in kansas city. . .I doubt he has done any recent work. . .his tests show no resemblence to the readings or lectures. . .I was throughly unimpressed!
