Poor Teaching ability. He expected you to basically already know the information. If you asked for any help during class he was not clear and treated you like an imbecile for having asked a question. He seemed upset that he had to actually teach! His pace was rapid and hard to follow. I would not take this guy if you have the option.

I had taken AP Calc 1 a year before taking his class and struggled to get a B. His class is very hard because of how thorough, understandably, he expects you to be in your answers. Points will be taken off for even slight errors. I strongly recommend your algebra skills before taking this class and homework is also a must. Very challenging.

I took Mr Brown for calculus. It was as rigorous as any class I'm taking now at U of Md but he really prepared me for my engineering. I'm grateful that he expected a lot from me. Mr Brown was very helpful and respectful, never ever a harsh word, always positive. He's very sharp and knows his stuff and he makes sure that you will too if you try.

Professor Brown is the best math professor I've ever had. His exams and quizzes are difficult but he provides you with the information to do well (handouts and hw problems). He is happy to answer any and all questions and always has a positive attitude. Highly recommended!!!!!

Took his online course. His "handouts" (notes) are usually pretty clear and negate the need for textbook reading for the most part. He takes the time to color-coordinate walkthroughs of complicated problems and has a great sense of humor. His exams are difficult, but he does throw a couple points in if people don't do that great. Highly recommended

He is a very tough professor. He's tough but fair. He assigns lots of pop quizzes in his Linear Algebra class. The good news is the 10 best pop quizzes are what he counts towards your grade. It's a very hard class, but Bob's kind, helpful, fair and curves exams if a lot of people don't do well. He's clear when he explains things.

I liked this teacher a lot. He taught Linear Algebra from a pure mathematics perspective, which I like. He was willing to provide after-lecture help to anyone who needed it, and his class was very structured. Enjoy!

Mr. Brown is extremely arrogant and talks down to his students. He told me I would fail the class but I made a B. The tutors in the math center are terrific. Without them, I would not have passed his class. All he does in his self paced math 083 classs is sit watch people work or grade tests. By the way, the book is awful. He wrote it. Beware!
