Comment:
Outdated lectures. He can have hard time trying to make a point. Lectures do not facilitate learning and tests are not designed to reinforce knowledge but rather to test your memory on the textbook text.

Comment:
He's rude and condescending at best. Don't believe him when he says it's about understanding, not memorizing. The slides and the tests are from the book for the most part. Don't bother asking questions, he won't answer: 1, he's deaf, 2 he doesn't know the answer anyway. Attend class: he takes attendance + tests on some random comments he makes.

Comment:
Read the textbook & take good notes and you'll pass both tests. The only annoying thing about the class are the group 'presentations' which is really just a group effort to submit two papers on a case of his choosing. But generally not a bad class. Got an A.

Not A bad teacher, Test are bit out there but fair overall. Tries to apply real life scenarios to the class which is appreciated. Recommended to take.

The worst possible class you can take at Baruch. Denker has a huge ego and stuck in his own world. Would often ridicule his students to make himself feel better. Thinks he is funny but is not. Grading is horrendous, as it is impossible to get more than a 90 on his papers (if he reads them). Impossible to study for exams. Avoid at all costs.

Comment:
This course should be revised by Baruch or stricken from the curriculum. To top it off, Prof. Denker is one of the worst educators I have ever experienced. He relies solely on the publisher's slides and it is difficult to determine if he even knows anything about this subject as he is so ineffective at teaching it.

His exam questions are ambiguous and are riddled with answer choices that contradict common sense. You will not be required to challenge your brain, rather learn how to answer questions his way in order to get a good grade. However, you will inevitably feel like you wasted your time and your money at the end of this unfortunate journey.

Lectures seemed to drag on for days. Very boring in the way he teaches. Attendance not mandatory, but he likes to stick a question or two on the exam referenced to a minor point he may or may not mention in class. He's practically deaf, so rampant cheating WILL occur on his exams. Avoid him if you can, even if it means waiting an extra semester

The textbook is all he knows, try to ask him a question outside the book and you'll know how little this man knows. Vague with directions, gets mad when people ask him questions since he doesn't know the answer to most of it. Overall he is pretty worthless as a professor, reminds me of those consultants that say alot but knows nothing.

This course can be challenging to students who do not have a background in accounting or information systems. But the professor is extremely bright and very knowledgeable on the subject. The power point slides are great. Plus, the professor is very nice. He cares that the students learn in his class and will make time to help you with any quest

You don't need to come to class but, he likes to add a couple of questions on the tests from the lectures. This like all computer classes in Baruch are in a classroom with no computers and basically memorizing definitions. Learned ACL in computer lab for a 30mins one day and then were given a project worth 10pts. This class is boring. Memorize.

Prof. Denker is very cool he gives you example of the real world. The class is very interesting I don't know what those two people where talking about. Read the book and get to know ACL and you will do fine.

I will add to the overwhelming negative consensus by saying he teaches technology for technology's sake which is more appropriate for DeVry than an MBA program. He is wildly inconsistent with his term paper guidance so he is a lazy grader. I still got an A, but this course needs to be completely revamped worth of an MBA program.

Overall I think CIS class is useless unless you are in CIS major. To do well you will need to see which term in the class slides that he repeats over and over again. His sample test only covers about 50% of what is on the exam. Using the class slides and understand the terms is a better way to review the exam.

Stay away from him. Keep murmuring in class, can't really him and he put sth that were not on ppt and textbk in exams.. Tricky mc and not clear on wut he wants on the group assignment. But I don't think he will not give a grade that is lower than B. Learn nth at all. Waste of time. Obviously waiting to retire.

Extremely boring. You won't learn a thing. The course description was interesting but he just brushed on the topics mentioned. His examples are obsolete and trite. No value added but he's nice and try to be helpful. A waste of time.
