I had him Fall of 09-10.I hear he got in trouble for dishing out so many A's so now his typical class average is a C-. Skip the class. My high school astro teacher Mr. Krug would destroy this guy. He has 3 different levels of difficulty on tests and tries to purposely trick you into picking the wrong

Apparently he used to be a good teacher...but i guess those days have long gone. I had an extremely good astro teacher in high school and this guy isnt even 1% as good as my other teacher. Do not take this class as an elective...if you need a science, take Phys 001...

Dr. Dewitt is a great professor! He gives 3.5% bonus at the end if you were there for all the days he passed a sheet around. He has worked with Dr. Warner Van Braun, done nuclear testing in Nevada, and made lasers and ellipse equations that are used today. Read the book and it's an A, no math at all take this class if the sky interests you at all

around 6 tests in the class. he gives study guides before the tests and usually sticks to them.can have some tricky questions but not too bad.fridays are usually extra credit and if you go to all of them it raises ur grade 3.5 % at end..should get at least a B...book is only needed for figures ohter than that just use notes

Boring class. Don't read the book but do look at the diagrams they are on the test! If you don't want to go to class then you'll have to read the book.. The notes are extremely important to do well on the tests. Hint:Find someone who took the class before and get their tests!! Veryyy helpful. Overall not bad. An A isn't impossible

He's funny, and knows his stuff, but you have to put some effort into the class. He does lecture pretty fast, but don't be afraid to ask him to slow down. If you come to class on the unpopular days he may even give out some bonus points. The tests are worth around 400 points and sometimes don't follow the study guide.

uhm.. one word: DON'T! he is a terrible professor, his tests are only 30 questions but worth 600 points and the study guides he gives don't even help. every single person plays on their cell phone during class because he is just that ridiculous. it is not worth it for a gen ed. take physics or something. i dropped and so did many others

ok this class was not hard but it was not easy. the only thing i used the book for was writing the vocabulary terms down for the exams. make sure you know what the diagrams are for his tests and honestly it is really boring but if you bust your butt on the exams and come to class (especially on fridays) you should get a decent grade.

Not a hard class if you just show up and STUDY before tests. I got an A without ever reading the book- just look at the figures that are listed on the study guide. He's very good at explaining a stuff at a level that anyone can understand it. Lots of extra credit for attendence too.

This class was ok. He was a bit boring and his tests got trickier as the semester went on. He usually was 10 minutes late for class then 5 more mins to set up his notes. So it usually was a short class. He always gave us extra credit for showing up on Friday becuase half the class would be missing. So make sure you go on Fridays for easy points

Easy class if your willing to do the work. Tells bad jokes and boring lecutres most of the time, but gives bonus for attendance and the lectures help for the tests. Definately read the text, a lot of it is on teh test, but he tells you what you need to read.

First off, as others have said, the days of this being a "blowoff class" or an easy A are long gone. On the flipside, he gives a fair amount of tests, so if you tank one, you can easily retain your grade. Also, he gives a study guide for you to use in the class. His lectures are funny as hell, and he routinely "screws up" to lighten the mood.
