Gilkey is very caring and all but if there was no lab, its kind of hard to say if most of the class would pass. Make sure you attend class because he has clicker questions for points do your Howell and dont ask for extensions as that costs you points do your Cozby pay attention and ace your lab. The exams are hard so prepare for them.

Whoever's iffy about taking Gilkey for whatever sem you're signing up for, take him. I don't know about the rest of the commenters, but I'm not much of a studious person, yet I got an A (with the help of lab). I reviewed his powerpoints 20 minutes before the exam which helped a lot. For those of you who actually study, you'll definitely get an A.

He's a sweet guy but his class was miserable. He was boring and went over the same things too many times. The tests were so hard, but the lab helped a lot.

Mr. Gilkey is a wonderful instructor, very pleased. He CARES! Contrary to previous comments, he does provide extra credit. He's very understanding and is beyond willing to help you and make sure you understand the material. He keeps his lectures interesting and throws in some humor. I highly recommend taking this class with him!

He's okay. I got an A but that's b/c the course is mostly stats and common sense. Average at explaining things. Cares about his students. Is flexible. Wish he could've made the material more interesting.

Gilkey is a nice guy but he shouldn't be teaching. I never understood a word coming out of his mouthing he made everything so confusing too. There is a TON of homework, and he also takes forever to reply to emails or sometimes just never does. I wouldn't take Gilkey ever again.

Gilk can be boring but I liked how he explained the material compared to other psych professors. He makes sure you understand it before moving on. He is also fair on extending dates for homework if something comes up. Doesn't respond to e-mails in a timely manner though.

Absolute worst professor I have ever had and is the only person who teaches 3020. He never responds to emails and the test are near impossible and confusing. He does curve but it doesn't do much. Majority of the class suffers due to his teaching. He seems like a nice guy just should have retired years ago.

Gilk is a fair teacher. He curves grades for each test based on how well the entire class performed. His lectures tend to be on the dull side but he does include a wide range of visual aides to make it more interesting. Class attendance is not required but he does do pop quizzes. The exams are tough but the curves soften the blow. Notes are online.

Very dull and boring. The book is not mandatory, but is helpful when studying. There are only a few questions on each test that do not come from lecture. Going to class helps a great deal, even though lecture is boring. The lab that goes with this class helped me get an A, otherwise I would have had a B.

Worst professor I have ever had at WSU. He is past his prime for teaching. He is boring, redundant, and gets lost way too often in his own lecture. He has no idea how to work computers and his slides are all over the place and just plan horrible. I often find myself day dreaming in his class because he drones on and on about the same things.

Had him for Science, Religion, & Mysticism and it was a great class. Gilkey is awesome! There was a TON of work involved, though. We had to read an article for every day and then we talked about it with the class. We also had an 18 page paper due at the end of the quarter, and a 45 minute presentation/discussion to lead.

Gilkey is one of the few reasons to attend Wright State. One of the best, most informative classes I've taken in my undergraduate degree. DO NOT skip his classes and you will do well with minimal effort as he is great at explaining the subject matter, you'll be able to understand integrate it easily. Highly recommended!

Gilkey seems like he may have been a great professor back in the day, but he needs to move on. Lectures are long and boring. Often times lectures will be over the same thing you covered the day before. Has some cool demonstrations, but other than that, the classic absent-minded professor.

Gilkey is one of the worst professors many of us have taken at WSU. His disorganization, laziness, and lacidazical attitude is how many of us suffered, struggled under doing a required degree class in PSY. His tenure gets in the way of management taking action forcing Gilkey to do his job with his classes properly. Gilke needs to be removed at WSU.

Finally, a real professor and a real class. Gilky is not afraid to make his students work hard, think, and have an opinion. If you are a lazy, wise-ass student find someone else to learn from. He's the real thing!

This is one of the few genuine characters that make Psy enjoyable.I have had few profs of this sort that allow me to feel the passion for the field.I am a huge slacker and I regret missing a moment of his class. He was always prepared and punctual.Gilky is insiteful and beloved.A virtuous motivator.
