Dr Gillespie is one of the best professor I have ever had. He is a very good lecturer and his lectures are never boring. He have a sense of humor that kept me awake from sleeping. I have also work him closely for my honors project and he is a great motivator. He is always ready to help when you are in need.

Aquatic Biology with Dr. Gillespie became my favorite class I have ever taken. The labs are not only fun, but a great experience in field work. There are no tests or lab reports, but there are some papers, a group project, and article disscussions. Dr. G makes you want to come to class. He truly is one of the best.

Dr. Gillespie is my favorite professor so far. He cares about his job, the success of his students, and science. I have learned lots from his lectures and would highly recommend him. He is accessible through email and office hours, and doesn't shame you for asking a "stupid" question. He respects you and is respectable himself.

Dr. Gillespie is an amazing teacher. He really knows what he is talking about and makes it fully clear what is expected of you. He prepares you well for quizzes and exams although you have to be ready to work hard if you want a good grade. He is always more than willing to help in any way he can.

I took this class not knowing much about ecotoxicology and now I think I may want to pursue this field. There are no tests but his assignments are very thorough. You will learn something from this class regardless of the effort you put in because he is that amazing of a lecturer. He keeps the topic interesting.

Great teacher to have for lecture and lab. He explains things well is more than happy to explain things different ways if need be. Involves students in lectures and shows applications as well as teaches concepts. Very approachable and willing to talk to any student. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Gillespie was extremely interested in teaching and conveyed it when lecturing. wasn't boring for biology and offered many visual aids to elaborate on material. As long as you attend class, take notes, and prepare for quizzes and exams you will have no difficulty with this class. Would recommend taking his class!

a wonderful professor! Definitely has a sense of humor and is interesting to listen to. His classes are mostly composed of PowerPoints so if you find biology boring, his classes may not be for you.. His tests/quizzes are easy if you pay attention and study!

Really helpful professor and is extremely attentive to students. Tests and quizzes are fair game with the material he presents. Just pay attention in lectures and read the powerpoints provided before quizzes and tests. I would take another class with him.
