Very good prof. I found that the layout of the class was well put together. I felt like it was totally possible to get a really good mark in this class, you just had to put a bit of effort into it.

He's hilarious, take him with a grain of salt and do your work then he's great to get along with. Very straightforward....if you want the truth he'll lay it on you.

Ugh. Dr. Guy. This guy made me absolutely hate chemistry. I had a tutor for most of the year- god, he was just a zombie in class and his lectures helped ZERO on the assignments. It's profs like this that make me question my choice of university.

I honestly don't see what the fuss is about. He isn't that great at all, although it may just be that I'm a first year student, as per others comments. He wasn't really around for help and a lot of the time in class during lectures, obvious mistakes were made and left uncorrected until later classes, and unclear notes were given.

I found a lot of what was done in lectures helped very little in assignments. He seemed kind of unapproachable, too. Was definately not my favourite chem teacher. If you are looking for a prof to help show you how to go about assignment questions, keep looking.

I don't know why people say Guy has something against first years. I certainly didn't detect anything of the kind in my chem class!

Dr. Guy comes across as being pretty hateful. It was obvious he had little interest in teaching first year chem. However, I give him credit for the time he devoted to extra help via his self-taught tutorials, and web chat sessions the night before an exam. Practice tests gave a heads up on the actual test. definitely fair.

The thing about Dr. Guy is that he doesn't care either way. If you do your work and prove it he'll help you, if you don't well then that's your problem. He's a good guy, however he has this thing against first years. I have no idea why but he just doesn't like you. I'm sure its nothing personal. . .

Dr. Guy was fantastic. I feel that he wasn't so into teaching an intro chem class, but he was totally helpful and easy to get in touch with. I would definitely take one of his classes again.

Dr. Guy went out of his way in order to make sure everyone understood. Self-taught Tutorials, Online Help, Online review before Tests, practice assignments, mulitple attempt WebCT quizes, FAIR exams, and interesting diverisions (where appropriate) in lectures. I'd find it hard to believe that ANY prof would care this much, let alone one at DAL. A+

Dr. Guy has been an outstanding teacher. He is always available, whether in his office, on webct, or after class. He organized tutorials which he does all by himself just because he thought it would be helpful for us. He is very helpful with his practice tests, and his tests are definitely fair. Though challenging, if you study, you will be fin

Admitidly, I think he just didn't like teaching this course, but he did a terrible job. His lecutres are the most disorganized of any course I've taken at Dal,the man refuses to answer questions durring class (And when he does it's usually a smart-ass answer), and he makes concepts more complicated than I think they need to be. Helpful online tho

I can't believe anyone could call this man a good prof. His lectures are completely disorganized and he doesn't even test you on things he teaches. He's not funny, fun or entertaining in the least. Avoid his class like the plague!

Everyone seems to think Dr.Guy was so helpful, but he has been absolutely terrible during our tutorials. On several occasions he would write some answer on the board, and we would ask him how he got the number. When he answered "Well I did it in my head" We asked if he could write it out. His answer "NO". And that was the end of that. Terrible.

Comment:
Prof. Guy contradicts himself. He will say something in class and then use a different way of marking on tests. When approached, several times, he simply said, "oh well, too late now." He is not a fair teacher.
