Completely pointless class! The internship experience was wonderful, but his class was pointless and boring! He is rude and interrupts you constantly. Lucinda Payne is taking the class over which is good!

He loves to drag out the class for no reason what so ever. Takes him a while to explain exactly what he wants us to do, usually I finally understand after the class has asked him many questions. Will continuously go over class time.

Dr. Hill can be entertaining at times, but he often teaches the material from his biased perspective. Overall, I was not impressed. He provided extremely subjective feedback that was inconsistent across papers and across students. There were no rubrics and no clear expectations. I could have done much better in the class if he had been more clear.

Horrible teacher. Doesn't work with you and takes off a ridiculous amount of points if you miss one thing. Killed his papers and yet he would penalize me for the small assignments such as a peer review. Worst prof I've ever had.

Dr. Hill is awesome. I love his class. He might go through the slides very quickly, but if you do the reading and the quizzes, you are good to go. He is a very nice guy & explained things well. I learned a lot in his class.

I had Dr. Hill for Abnormal Psych, his class is a bit cut and dry but overall he was a great teacher. I would only reccomend him if you can deal with boring. The class is easy if you use the textbook for quizzes and pay attention. Also, he is easy to talk to outside of class and will always help. Would definitely take him again.

He likes to ask before every class if there are any disorders you would like to talk about, then responds with "we'll talk about that in chapter__." You have to read every chapter of the book and take nit picky quizzes then go to class just to hear him drone on over powerpoints that are verbatim of the book.

Worst professor ive ever had! If you take him you crazy! makes you read a chapter a week and has quizes online which are made by the textbook and are redicliosly hard. One question was wrong and he wouldnt give me points for it. He said tough luck. hes boring! and teaches nothing! Should not be a teacher anywhere. quizzes are timed also. hated him!

I'm surprised at the low ratings Dr. Hill received. Sure he's hard; his tests are insanely specific and technical. Lots of reading, too. But other than that, he's a nice guy who, as far as I can tell, genuinely cares. Take him seriously, he knows his stuff, and pay attention to the readings. If you don't read, you won't pass. Hard, but worth it.

I was really reluctant about taking this course, but I learned so much about psychopathology! I felt completely prepared for my first job in the mental health field because Dr. Hill provided excellent instruction in this area. I avoided the abnormal psych class as an undergrad. I think it's wise to take it only if you're serious about the subject.

unfair whining by undergrads whose B.S. Hill didn't buy: that's what most of these write-ups appear to be. Hill has remarkably powerful clinical instincts; huge asset to ASU. He may be direct and that may make some uncomfortable, but he is genererous, helpful, highly intelligent and a great teacher.
