Proffesor Katz's teaching style is unique in that he disregards the tedious and irrelevant topics and rather teaches what he finds to be important. The cases he chooses are fascinating and he is truly passionate about his teaching.

This is by far the worst professor I've had in all of undergrad and law school. This professor distracts himself while talking and rarely finishes a thought. The exam was on material that was barely covered in class and had an impossibly low word count. He assigned so many outside materials that it was impossible to keep them straight.

Classes are all about the readings and he uses the Socratic method, so do them. If you haven't taken law before, it can be hard to understand the case studies on your own. He uses class as the opportunity to understand what students think, let students know what he thinks (of the case studies), and what the results mean for law in the future.

DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN! Not only is he a poor professor (Just read from the book as lecture), but he's ridiculously absent minded. I only missed 2 days in that class, one under the limit, and after the exam was told that I had missed 6 classes which knocked my grade down. All because he would forget to pass around the attendance sheet. Ridiculous

RUN AWAY! Acts like he has never opened the book, we spent 30 mintues one day on how cool it would be to have a Viking Funeral - useless - learned more from the E&E book than class. Test was multiple choice but some questions turned on a single word - not hard but very time consuming

Professor has no concept of appropriate scope, clarity, or brevity of topics and materials. Constantly changing assignments and forgetting what he had assigned. Very frustrating

THE most incompetent professor at the law school. Even if you can make out his rambling, incoherent statements, there is no substance to them. This guy can't even make it through a basic intestacy statute without getting hung up & being corrected by his students. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Take it with Lopez or Kelly-Hill.
