Comment:
Dr. Kocis is a diamond in the rough of Scranton. He's a brilliant professor who provides interesting and holistic explanations of the subject matter. He'll make you work for it, but to say it was well worth it is an understatement. If you don't care about the class, no need to waste your time- but if you do, then Kocis is the way to go.

I had a lovehate relationship with Dr. Kocis. Loved him because he was very understanding, always tried to help, and honored and respected students who put forth their best effort. Hated him because his exams are tough and 100% based on word for word lectures. Overall, if Dr. Kocis knows you're working hard, he'll really try to help you out.

Kocis is one of the nicest teachers you'll meet, though he can be a little confusing in his lectures and powerpoints. Really interested in what he's teaching you, and will go on long (as in multi-class long) tangents about random things.

He is the best teacher I ever had! Not an easy class, but he cares about his students. If you ask for help, he'll help you, but you have to be open and ask for the help! He wants to see his students learn and succeed!

Completely inept when it comes to teaching. He sealed the deal for me: the Political Science Department at out school is a complete joke. What is the political scientist if not a glorified sports analyst anyway, irrelevant to the game, for he merely analyzes action he is not part of?

His tests and lectures are very confusing. He is a nice guy and in some ways smart but overall lacks a certain conformity that is needed to teach students. He lacks this ability in many ways.In order to get an A on his test you need to think like him because his questions are vague and the answers are just as vague.

Dr. Kocis is absent-minded, but nice. He loves polisci and likes to talk about current events and hear our opinions. If liberal ideas offend you, he will probably annoy you. If you attend classes, take notes, and study his study guides for exams, you'll get an A. Notes are very clear. He's a good choice if you want an easy intro class.

We had to write a brief we never discussed in class that was worth 300 points. The final is cumulative. And on the final, he'll put two questions about cases that are made up. Don't take him if you're not forced to.

There's no book in this one as well. The first half we took some general notes about ConLaw and were tested on that, again fill in the blank. There's no extra credit, but don't worry he'll put a bonus question on the test that says BONUS but it's not worth anything. In the second half of the semester we had to write case briefs that were not graded

I thought this was going to be a political science class but it ended up being a philosophy class. There were three exams, all fill in the blanks. He gives you study guides, which will give you 1% of the answers. Don't use them as a word bank because you'll think the test will be easy but so many questions will not match up with the study guide.

He is a very liberal teacher, but knows so much about him. Many students do not like him at my school because they are ignorant conservatives, and he can easily prove them wrong. If you like to see things from a different perspective, and get an A, then take Kocis!

gets very enthusiastic about things like trucking. makes the world's lamest jokes and explains the jokes because no one laughs. We get the jokes, they're just not funny. Nice guy though, just a horrible professor.

arguably the worst professor on campus. steps were even taken to try and break his tenure. countless students have problems with him concerning grades, assignments, attendance, and e-mailing (he never checks his email and comes up with excuses for why he doesnt). if you have any sense at all, you wont take him. nice guy, but awful at educating.

Nice guy, but sometimes gets a little off topic and doesn't know how to effectively communicate. He is not an aweful teacher, just absent minded...if you want to take a class that is a break in your schedule Kocis is nice, but his grades are arbitrary and if you are obsessed with keeping track of how grades are tallied...do not take him!

Easiest polysci course I've had here. You never have to open the book just take good notes and keep up with current events and you will ace all his quizzes (he gives quizzes only, no exams). Also a good guy with a sense of humor.

Absolutely hilarious professor.Sure he might frustrate u bc he doesnt have a single grade yet and its a week b4 the final, but that still wont stop you from talking yourself into an A. The man is nuts, and blames the "synapses" and the fact he's quote "wired wrong" for his inability to remember anything(including teaching) but hey thats RAK!
