Dont take him. He assigns reading out of the book for homework, then reads what was assigned verbatim for class the next day, adding nothing. Grades everyone as if they are a 4 year english major. If you do take, bring your papers to him before turning in. Youll get a good grade. I think he just wants attention.

Lectures are long-winded and will beat the horse dead on some of the obvious. Very hard on grading papers, but if you write what he says in class about the works your grade will be a little higher..research paper, do put some time into it.

this guy grades you as if your in HARVARD or something. hardest teacher i have EVER had. he is a JOKE. dont take his class. i even had my cousin whose a english teacher help me on my final paper, and he gave it a "C"...if you get higher than a B in his class, you must be GOD

Mr. Lesman can be boring at times & he does expect a lot from your essays. Still, he is willing to help anyone in need. I asked him to edit most of my essays & his suggestions bumped my essay up a letter grade. I learned a lot from his class about writing essays & am glad I took him, but I put a lot of effort into each essay.

Had him for honors english 111 and 112. He is tough as hell, but you are a better writer when you finish his class. I got a B in 111 and A in 112. If you want to be a good writer, take him but if you want to slack take someone else!

Mr. Lesman is an excellent teacher. Not strict at all, but be prepared to try. If you come to class and participate you will do well. If you come to class with a bad attitude and dont want to work, then obviously youre going to fail. Very helpful with research papers and willing to work with you. Excellent teacher. DEFINATELY take him!!

Sorry to say, but Lesman is a bore! Severely biased, unclear, and unhelpful (unless "HE" thinks you're smart). Once you earn a "C" on your first exam/quiz/paper, that'll be your grade for the rest of the semester unless he can be convinced. Do the right thing! DON'T TAKE HIM!

very monotone but he knows his stuff. If you like English take his class cuz hes brilliant (I do like english). He explains everything in great detail, all except the test. I was never sure where I stood grade wise because he wanted you to be extremly percise on tests. I was late to a LOT of classes, Hes extremly fair! :-)

I made A's and B's on all my papers except for the final. I didn't ask him for help on the final, but the paper was as good as the others. I got a D on it. I think he felt affended that I didn't have a confrence with him. But a professor should grade on content not if they like a student or not.

As much as I tried in his class, every graded assignment I got back from him was a C. He is a perfectionist and it is annoying. I was stuck at some kind of grade barrier. He is tough, I do not recommend him at all, unless you are an english genius.

I will always remember the first kid on the roster. That's how class was started every day without fail. No "hey, what's up?" No "hello." Not even a "good afternoon." No variation. Same old. Monotonous. Like the rest of class. I think he'd be best suited writing poems in a remote log cabin somewhere. Nice guy, though. A little dry.
