Professor Lopez is genuine and cares about his students. He lectures every class for the whole lecture period and you have to write fast! He is full of information and is always glad to help students when they are unsure. He is available whenever you need him. He has a few extra credit opportunities, but tests are easy and straightforward.

I really enjoyed this class at first I hated the thought of taking geology but his material is really easy to understand if you watch the videos he posts of each subject. This really helped me when studying for exams and also answers most of study guide. His notes and lectures can be hard to follow but if you honestly ask him he will more than help

Lopez is a great person, very passionate and knowledgeable in his fields. However, his style of teaching was eclectic at best. He speaks fast, jumps from topic to topic, and is overall extremely disorganized. It was excruciating to take notes in his class. Up to 5 online assignments due every week, though most of the material can be found online.

I took his GEOL15 class online over winter. Make sure that you are able to dedicate as much time as needed to it, since there were 7-8 assignments due every 3 days, including quizzes. I tried to take another online simultaneously and had to drop this one simply because I could not keep up. It's more doable over spring, only 3-4 assignments a week.

Lopez is a solid professor and is super passionate about his line of work. Though the class is super difficult to follow, you will only succeed if you find a study group. He always gives pop quizzes, but mostly bases them on participation. Tests and quizzes are a lot of work. Class is fairly interesting and he tries hard to make things fun.

Robert was such a great online professor, his class was simple and the assignments were not difficult to keep up on. I had a problem with ordering the online lab kit and he was nice enough to give me a chance to catch up on everything. The only minus is how expensive materials are for the class but it's still worth it.

This class was tough for me, but if you watch his letcures and take good notes, you will do fine! The answers to the test are in his lectures, so I was more dependent on letctures than the book when it came to studying for the exams. But you will need the book, so make sure you get it!!! Oh yeah, great passionate professor! I hate geo but got an A!

I took this class online (actually, I'm still taking it). I'm taking the summer course, so its condensed. The lectures are super informative. He knows his Geo and has a way of getting me interested, even though I wasn't initially. Super nice teacher, do your work, watch ALL the lectures and DO the study guides and the tests will be easy.

The labs are pretty fun and interesting. Go to class, do all the work in class, take the online quizzes, do the study guides, they help with the exams, and you will pass the class. Over all he is a great teacher and clearly loves the subject and his job, he's super understanding

Warning: if you don't care much about geology, don't take geo15. It is an easy course but requires a lot of work (3-5 assignments a week). Since its Cali Geo, it gets very specific and thus very boring if geology isn't your thing. You have to watch all the lectures for the exams which is dreadful for all of us non-geology people. Just fair warning!

This was one of the best classes I've ever taken. I took Ocean10 with a lab and he made it so much fun for someone who doesn't enjoy science very much. My group and I stuck together throughout the class and passed with an A. The class isn't based off on just exams so it makes it so much better. We built a great relationship with him. Highly rec!

Overall he was a great teacher but he gives a lot of homework which is on canvas and Smartwork but usually those quizzes were the same so it was like taking a quiz and doing the homework twice. Talks really fast sometimes in lectures and jumps around but seems very passionate about the subject.

Lopez is super chill and understanding. Very solid teacher for an intro to ocean class. Although, there is a lot of material (especially in beginning weeks) but he gives out E.C. assignments along with lots of help in the labs. Definitely recommend this teacher.

He is very passionate about what he teaches. you get to go on a field trip and get extra points too. out of 4, 2 tests are online. The online material is updated. I recommend this class for anyone :)

This (online) class was probably one of the more do-able tougher classes I have ever taken. He really challenges you to really read, learn, and to understand the subject! Granted, it's tough, but it's for a good reason. Tests were a little hard, but reading the chapter(s) and taking notes will help a lot.

He is very funny and helpful. I love it how he is very passionate about his job and willing to help you with anything. You don't want to miss lab cause it's a lot of points and he won't let you redo it. Tests are usually multiple choices. Do reading quizzes and take notes and you'll pass.

Dr. Lopez's lectures are super long and he talks really fast. However, as long as you do all of your homework and show up to class, you should get an A. He is pretty lenient- allows notes on the exams, and re-do's on the exams if the class does badly. 2 of the exams are online via Angel.

Take his class online and its pretty easy to get an A. Need to take notes from his online lectures. Quizze comes from your textbook, and exams come from lecture notes and some from the handouts. 4 exams and he drops the lowest one. His class is a lilttle time consuming but not a hard A. If you take the field trip, you will have extra 30 points.
