Mr. Martinez takes this stuff SERIOUS! And that's a good thing. I have been in the electrical field doing some motor controls for years, but in the first 4 weeks of this class, I have already learned way more than I even expected. He makes me think, and brings up interesting topics. Labs seem challenging and he has high expectations.

Comment:

Most amazing lectures. Very difficult to ace his course but also very possible. Doesn't rely on textbooks very much but then again you can tell immediately that he's giving you an education far more valuable than anything the books can. Hands on training and critical thinking exercises set his classes at the top of my list of favorites.

I wish I had taken these classes sooner. With everything I have learned about electricity I have many different option for a career path. Mr Martinez gives real world express and challenges you to be the best. I am happy I took classes with him and look forward to learning more.

I am currently in the EST-51 and 53 9 week courses, and I am now excited about electricity. I took the classes because one of my friends suggested it, but now I will definitely take more classes in the EST program. Martinez is awesome because he tries to relate everything to how stuff works in the real world. I usually leave his classes excited

Best teacher I've ever had. He can be tough but always fair. Very passionate about his job and your success. Takes the time to make sure you understand. Works with you. He'll never give you the answer, but he'll make sure you have all the tools to find it. Safety is another priority. I wish he taught more classes. I'd take them all.

BAM! I am taking these classes and received a job offer before I even completed my certificate. Martinez challanges you to understand the material. Expect homework and dont miss class. He explaines it MUCH better than anything I was reading.

As said many times here, Martinez is excellent! He puts you in charge and expects you to be an adult and manage your time. He will answer general questions (and give real-world examples), but expects you to use those examples to solve your problem. Critical thinking skills I learned in this class will help me in my future career.

Great instructor. Knowledgeable. You need to show up for class prepared. Extra credit for being neat with anything you turn in. If your behind in lab you can come in off hours as long as he is in the building. Love his classes.

You must do your homework! Missing one assignment could be the difference between a 92% or an 86%. Take very good notes(everything on the whiteboard), tests and quizzes are based mostly on this material. Usually, first 1/2 of the semester is mostly notes, second is lab time. Very strict at first but tends to relax as time goes on. Great instructor!

In the challenging job market today, you need to have someone who will PREPARE you. Mr. Martinez is strict and has rules that you must follow, but I guarantee you that if you do well in his class, you will have an advantage over others who have taken another instructor. Great teacher, if your there to learn, don?t waste his time and you wont be wasting your own, really explains things very easily, makes sure the class is up to speed before moving into labs. Labs are really fun, hands on, problematic but you feel you?ve learned something after. I would recommend his class to anyone looking to further themselves.
