Terrible. Emails at 2am, mandatory participation in class while she texted or fell asleep, and little/confusing feedback on everything. Little to no actual lecture time. Dr. King appears to be extremely knowledgeable, but didn't lecture. All info came from group presentations by other students.

A giggled yes to the other comments; HOWEVER, she prepared me better for this field than any other professor. She was not flexible in her demands but realistic. Her motive is to prepare , not to torture you. You'll silently thank her later a million times for portfolios and knowledge you gained. Invest in her class and she WILL invest in you.

Dr. King is a character. She will send you endless emails (make sure you CONFIRM when she asks), and she can make you feel like the biggest idiot in the world (she does this on purpose). But, she is clearly good at what she does. She's been known to be called the "abusive boyfriend," (i.e. she demeans you, but you keep coming back for more!).

I have never known of a teacher in my life with a teaching method more prone for stress. She has been teaching at NAU for decades and is obviously very knowledgeable. There is really no course outline. She will passively mention assignments during class or send dozens of emails throughout the week with new assignments.Doesn't bend. Unforgiving

Dr King really knows her stuff.. BUT you will get endless emails from her at all hours of the day. She's all over the map in her teaching and incorporates a confusing problem based approach. She can be very intimidating (and loud) at times, but I believe has a compassionate soul.

I took her child development course back in 1995...I think she did have the tendency to give you the impression of being intimidating if you didn't really know her well. She was tough but fair. Alot of what she teaches is very true, so listen up!!!
