Definitely the hardest professor I've ever had. You need a lot of time to study and study and study or you WILL fail, like many kids in my class did (almost half). It has to take priority over every other class. He will bump your grade up if you participate and if you ask him how you can improve your study habits after you don't do well.

If you feel like your life ending, take this professor! he expects you to know everything about anything, gives so many notes, impossible to pass the tests, if you feel like passing this class, you will have no social life, hes so inconsiderate and treats you like you are very stupid. hes an insulting jerk. good luck with this one!

grade is based off 4 exams ONLY. never uses the book although you are responsible for all the information in it. takes notes on the board but half of it is pictures of squares and circles. you really need to study A LOT for his tests. the only good thing is that his final is not cumulative. save yourself the trouble and dont take him

I liked Prof. Orson as a person, but TESTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE. Social life? Gone. Definitely expect to put massive amounts of time into studying. The class consists of 4 exams, that's it..no other work, no opportunities to raise your grade. I study so hard for the exams and barely pass. I do not reccomend unless you have a strength in biology.

You will learn alot in this class, but it is VERY hard. Probably the hardest or 1 of the hardest teachers I've had. You are expected to know EVERYTHING including and especially all details. His tests are very difficult and the wording on them can trip you up very easily. I would not recommend unless you are willing to devote all your time to bio

Yes he is a tough professor, but he knows what he's doing and makes his class difficult to prepare health science students for further classes which will be a lot harder. If you study for his tests, they really aren't as bad as people make them out to be. He gives great class notes and the text book is used as a supplement. I took him 2 semesters.

He is rude and will make your feel terrible if you answer a question even slightly incorrect. He spends a lot of time insulting health science majors. Orson's tests are almost impossible unless you study for weeks before hand. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Orson is a good teacher. He really knows biology, but he kinda has a quirky personaility which you either love or hate. All around good guy, but his tests are wicked hard. Expect to study alot, but you learn so much, so it's definitly worth it.

Despite what other people say, I think this professor is GOOD. He has interesting insights which help in understanding the course. Sure, his test might be a little tough, but he says whats on them, so as long as you study it shouldn't be terrible. I CAN ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND BIOLOGY!
