Comment:
He is a good professor, real approachable. Could of graded the class with a few more tests, quizzes, and/or homework (Note: I said a few) than just the 3 tests and project. The 3 tests could make or break you, I'd recommend negotiating with him as a class early on about it. He takes criticism well, and tells great stories.

He is a funny professor, no assignment, no reading, no study guide. Not a easy A, but a prepared A. flight profile really help to raise the grades, takes time but totally worth it

Professor Owen knows this subject very well, to the point where he has a personal anecdote for almost every situation. His class was enjoyable because the topic is actually interesting, however the powerpoints can be pretty dry, so be prepared to have coffee with you at all times to stay awake. There is a LOT of political discourse in class as well

Professor Owen is spectacular! His stories are funny and he has a dry sense of humor, which most appreciate. His class is not hard. Wanna pass? Just study the slides two days out and read them as if they were a story.. Easy A. He gives good feedback so your writing will improve. Take him! He is helpful during office hours and will help you succeed!

He loves to talk about himself and go on long tangents of useless information. You will learn more of his personal life then what you're paying him to teach you. I wish Embry-Riddle would stop having monopolies when it comes to professors so you can avoid the bad ones.

Seems to be a nice guy. Is not a very good teacher. I can tell he enjoys the topic of history but just does a poor job teaching it. In addition to that, his course is all over the place. Very had to follow not to mention he throws in a huge writing paper that has absolutely nothing to do with the course. Spends most of class talking about himself.

Dry lectures & talks about himself & the military A LOT. Test are more analytical than factual (still multiple choice) so they're relatively difficult. The paper and group project are really easy so long as you follow the rubric. In the end, he's a good guy & gives good feedback.

His powerpoints are dry but he highlights what you need to know for the test. He gives no clear criteria for his paper that he makes you write which has no relevance to the class besides his personal beliefs. VERY dry professor who loves to hear himself talk. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!

Test come straight from the powerpoint, he even highlights in red and yellow what will be on the test. Test are still a little challenging though. Paper is easy and gives you outlines and rules to follow, can't go wrong if you following the guidelines. Dry sense of humor and can be pretty funny. Would recommend and would take again.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Phenomenal instructor. But to get your moneys worth then pick his brain after class bc he provides a ton of wisdom. When it comes to his tests and 2 projects he is straightforward and you have A PRACTICAL chance of excelling in his class. Literally do as he says and you will pass his class well.

Class material was fairly simple, but the tests did tend to be a tad difficult. Rob is a great man, and i have known him for years, he is full of knowledge and funny stories , but he does seem to be monotone with his lectures. I would recommend him.

I have never met a teacher that has been more full of themself. The whole class was him telling students they will never be as good as him. I understand he was in the Air Force, but come on we aren't your grunts.

Very dull. It is more of a business class then an AS class. The other half of class is how to write a paper which is a total waste of time. He does have some funny stories but I would highly advise not taking his class.

Unfortunately, there was not another professor teaching this class when I took it. Hated going to this class. He teaches this class as 30 minutes of lecture and 30 minutes barely guiding you through a writing project. Organized, but confusing. You have to jump between the syllabus, powerpoint, and schedule to know what;s really expected of you.

Great prof! He's a "no BS kinda guy" and gives real-world knowledge as opposed to textbook theory. He's also hilarious and has a life story relevant to the lessons. As long as you put in effort his class is a breeze. You'll learn a lot and enjoy doing it.

Professor Owen is by far one of my favorite at Riddle. If you have any questions, he's always willing to answer them. I had him over summer and I'm glad I did. His stories are always entertaining and his class is very engaging. So, if you're on the fence about taking him- DO IT.

Dr. Owen has a bit of a military aura in the way he interacts with the class. Some of his stories are interesting. I don't blame him for a rather bland class because the subject itself is not something to get excited for. Follow his instructions word for word, and it's a manageable class. (To Dr. Owen: I neither love nor hate you as a professor.)

Professor Owen is a very intelligent person and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to aviation legislation. His presentations are informative and he usually tries to keep the class engaged. He has a high standard when it comes to the paper but for good reason. He is trying to set his students up to be knowledgable and professional.

Very knowledgeable on the topic of aviation legislation. Interesting stories and presents the material well. Questions on the test tend to be from the power points more than from the text, but towards the end a lot of questions come from the text. He likes papers HIS way which is different from how you learned to write papers in your COMM classes.
