He is an okay teacher. I liked him overall, he's funny and cute, but the material is difficult and he doesn't explain it very well. But I did learn a lot from him and he is very entertaining. I will miss him.

Dr. Rojas has trouble explaining things clearly or understanding questions. But, he's a really sweet old man, and if you do the Quia he assigns and come to class, you'll definitely get an A. I would recommend him if you're just looking for an easy grade but not if you actually need to learn the language.

He really cares about his students and will help you in anyway he can. Although, he is really hard to understand because he does have a thick accent. If you don't know any Spanish, I wouldn't suggest starting out with him...

he is really funny and nice, but he can not teach. if i hadn't had spanish in high school i would have failed his class. he is very hard to understand and he doesn't understand students when they ask questions. he is a native speaker but is always making mistakes. i wouldnt recommend if you are looking to actually learn.

it takes a long time to get used to his heavy accent. he is slowly going senile. he does not answer e-mail(nor does he use blackboard). he strictly relies on quia. he posts all homework on there which is hard to decipher at first. but he's super predictable just BE A TEACHER'S PET and you will be good.

Rojas is an arrogant professor. Even though he has a PhD in his "native" language, he is always being corrected by the students in class. Regardless of whether the homework gets done, it doesn't help. When asking for help he will not listen, he only assumes what we are doing wrong and that we don't care..horrible teacher!!!

While Dr. Rojas may approach the subject matter in a unique way he makes the class enjoyable. The class itself could be an independent study class. The material/study materials are easily accessible. The only way you do poor in the class is to not apply yourself. He is very understanding of individual circumstances and deals with them as such.

Not only he takes the time I paid him to tell meaningless jokes, but he doesn't explain anything clearly. Sometimes, he even manages to surprise with his level ignorance. He is always making mistakes, never mind that he should know this stuff by heart since his native language is Spanish.

Rojas rocks. For those of you who complain that you're not learning anything from Rojas, get out of your daydreams and pay attention during class. Quit being lazy and blaming your insecurities and ineptitudes on a wonderful teacher who will take the time to help any of his students. Learning is not a passive activity, so take an active role.

Rojas has been wonderful in handling my disability. I entered the class with no Spanish experience & my grade is very good. You have to do the work assigned, but class is very entertaining. If you expect someone to cater to you or you take issues with him being of a different culture then, frankly, you aren't cut out for college/real world.

He's a crazy Costa Rican hobbit. His class is hard but enjoyable. It can be hard to understand his accent, but this is Spanish. He's always telling stories or going off on rants, but he usually ties them into the class. He has provided students with extra materials when asked. He also misuses the word "kinky," but other than that, no complaints.

I might be one of the few who actually enjoy his class. He is a very nice man, and his methodolgy of teaching is at first quirky but soon you realize where he is coming from. I do suggest taking Dr. Rojas for Spanish 101 I have definately begun learing a great language from him.

If you know some Spanish and want to do minimal work, then take Rogas. He grades based on his personal feelings toward you. I did absolutely no work in his classes and passed all with a B. Downside, I don't know any Spanish. If you take him for 101 and change teachers, then you will have problems in 102, etc...

Dr. Rojas is so nice but he just can't teach. In 101 and 102, expect to do Blackboards for at least four hours a day and memorize ALL of them for the tests. And in 214, it's just hours of sitting there listening to him tell stories about everything from Catholicism to birds and then going home and teaching what you should have learned to yourself.
