Galli is nice, and I didn't hate her class but she's certainly not the best in the psych department. She grades harshly, but she does provide a lot of extra credit. Only 2 tests plus the final. Requires a long writing assignment at the end of lab. Will work with you if you ask though, provides a lot of study time with the TA.

Galli was an amazing psych teacher and was very clear during her lecture. She has multiple choice quizzes at the end of every unit but if you study and refer to her PPT you'll be fine. She offers a lot of extra credit and was also kind enough to give us an outline for our mid-term and finals. It's easy to fall behind but it's very manageable.

Professor Galli is crazy. She acts like she's on LSD and she's an awful professor. Her tests are completely unfair and not even on the curriculum taught in class. She teaches with favoritism and if she doesn't like you, you're screwed!! Never ever taking another class with her and even reporting her to student life for discrimination.

Comment:
Professor Galli is nice, but I would never take another course with her. Her tests and quizzes were such a pain. Quizzes on the assigned readings sometimes had questions that were too specific (for example, a date something happened when it's not really relevant to the course). I can't memorize every tiny detail of an entire chapter lady!

Things on the test she never covered in class. She does not get things back in time, or have a decent amount of tests and quizzes. There is no benefit to showing up to her class, and often times she can't explain everything even though she is the head of the department. I will never take a class with her again.

Go to class. Do the readings. Go to office hours. Write lab notes. Exams a little unpredictable, but get better as you get used to their format. I think effort is the big thing for this class- she was a fair grader & definitely helpful when you sought out help. If she says to just know general points, make sure you know all of it.

This was an intimidating class. There is a lot to learn, but as long as you keep up with the work, you should do well. She's extremely funny if you catch all her jokes. She lectures, which could put you to sleep (she notices this) but if you read the material and answer when she asks questions, you'll be more likely to stay awake. Put in effort!!

Loved this class, all the material was explained extremely well. Tests are REALLY difficult though, and be careful to study extra readings she assigns and your coloring book. She says it's mostly on lecture but it's not!

I LOVE Dr. Galli! I think she is clear on the material. Her exams are very fair although I wish she could spread out the information better and give us an extra exam...too much info at once. If you need her help just ask as she is always there to help us. She is a nice person and has enthusiasm about biopsych. She makes neurotransmission easier! :)

Good class, she's a great professor. Sometimes she might seem a little unorganized for lack of powerpoint, but she always knows where she's going. She does a great job incorporating current studies, etc and trying to use feedback that her students give. Exams get progressively harder throughout the semester-but overall she's great!

It really wasn't that bad of a class. You guys probably didn't pay attention or go to study groups. If you do the reading, ask questions in class and attend some sort of group study, you will get a decent grade. She's a very happy woman and loves biopsych.

Galli must have changed her teaching style since the fall of 2005, because her class in 2006 was AMAZING. She went step-by-step during the difficult sections of the material. She always wanted to know our questions and help if we had trouble. She is one of the most amazing professors at Simmons.

What does she have her Ph. D. in? Every time she was asked a remotely off topic question she didn't know the answer? Does she read anything about her subject? She sucked at getting graded work back. She has taught this class one too many times and needs to find a new one. She is far too comfortable, and just doesn't seem to care.

i never got one thing back- never saw any grades until the end...which ended up being an F. The subject was amazing but she didn't know much and was extremely unhelpful. It's a shame she has a job here.
