Comment:

Skibbens portion of the class is filled with convoluted powerpoints and rushed lectures. He seems to know a good deal about the immune system but appears to avoid questions. Back to the powerpoints.. they are jumbled with literally thousands of different things on each slide and he goes at the speed of light to get through all of it. Beware.

Comment:

This class is taught by Skibbens & Cassimeris. Skibbens is great because he goes into details in his lectures while explaining clearly. He also writes the things he says on the slides, so if you miss something he says, you can refer to the slides for specifics. This class is only tests, each worth 20%, but as long as you study, it's fine.

One of the most respect-deserving people I've met in academia. I chose to go to graduate school here just so I could work with him. He's taught me more than I thought possible and is nothing less than charismatic.

Great Professor! Full of energy and very enthusiastic about the subject. 5 exams instead of 3 which is nice but they are still tough. He gives lots of information and video clips to help you understand.

Reading through the reviews from 8-10 years ago you would think this is a different professor. It's absolutely crazy what they were saying. The material is dense but is nicely split up by quick tests so you don't have to remember too much for a test. And the final isn't cumulative. He is one of my favorite professors I've had, undergrad or grad.

skibbens is a good professor. He seems enthusiastic about the material and makes it alot less dry compared to other professors. His exams are okay, just study the notes really. I enjoyed watching the lectures.

had him for cell biology. He posts all materials and videos of the lecture online and attendance is not mandatory. He is very enthusiastic and very fair in my opinion. Hmwk is an easy 100% and he curves all tests.

Skibbens lectures are clear and he explains concepts well. Yeah, you have to work to learn the material. We are all paying tuition, aren't we? I'm glad I got my $$'s worth.
