Sometimes this class can be very boring, but I don't think you can make communications super fun. I don't know if it's my classmates or not, but overall I had fun in the course. I had a lot of people that would joke around and he would join, it was overall a fun time. He does grade a little hard though and is sarcastic. I liked him though.

Extremely critical in his grading process, and he takes every opportunity to tear you apart on his rubric sheets. I got awful grades in almost all of the performing activities and mediocre grades on the written essays, funny guy but I would NEVER choose to take him again.

This professor is not clear with instructions. He is constantly ridiculing students and will consistently interrupt them during performances. He lacks respect for his students and is an unfair grader. I am almost done with his class that I needed for a minor, but my grades are not great. EVERYONE in the class failed the first test. Not one passed.

Do not take! Very judgmental when giving feedback about speeches. He'll tell you what you spoke about was wrong in front of the entire class. His lectures are boring and don't make sense and the tests are very hard. There are 5 speeches, one being a group speech. Says to get the textbook, but you don't use it. There is no final.

This professor is abysmal. Genuinly the worst professor I've had to date. Very old school, very strict, arrogant, and boring. His lectures will put you to sleep and you will definetly learn nothing about public speaking. I will never take any of his classes again. Avoid this professor like the plague.

Avoid this professor if possible. If you don't have glossophobia, you will by the time he is done with you. He is condescending, arrogant, and incompetent. He gives bad advice and is unwilling to help if you are struggling. If your opinions don't line up with his, do not let him know. I wish I had more characters to list why he is so awful.

horrible professor, so rude and calls people out. hes very unfair and you have to buy the stupid book that he wrote to actually pass the class. he tries to make theater and preforming fun but hes just such a low quality person that it doesnt work

He is a good professor and he knows what he is talking about. Class is boring and some days it drags on. He says that he will do attendance every now and then, but for like a week straight he did attendance. Make sure to buy the book new. The hw is in the back of it. All of the tests are online, but there are also in-class quizzes.

I wouldn't recommend him at all. He's not very nice to students and if he doesn't agree with something you say or even with an opinion he will no doubt make it a point to make sure you look like an idiot in front of the whole class. Not helpful or approachable and just very disrespectful to students. Don't take him.

Mr. Smith was one of the worst professors I've had here at KU. He talks down to all of his students and he makes you feel so stupid if you have a question. He rambles on for what seems like forever, and grades harder than he should. I go to all my classes and I dont have the best grade, but not failing.

Professor Smith is the professor you take when you want an A. He assigns homework every week (usually worksheets, but also play readings) that are easy to understand. His tests are also online & open book, so you shouldn't be failing unless you 100% don't care. His lectures are somewhat boring, but if you get into the material, you'll enjoy it.

Extremely dissapointed with this class. Instead of being taught what we needed to know, he gave us bad grades and then told us what we did wrong. He was very disrespectful and did nothing for those who asked for help. Also, no assignments were made clear. Spoke down to everyone as if we were all dumb. Do not take him!!!

I will never take this professor again. He was rude and disrespectful to students, graded WAY too low, barely answered emails, and does not care if you work for the grade or not- you will get whatever he feels like giving you. He was no help in teaching us how to speak in public, just criticized that we didn't know how. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

One of the worst professors I've ever had. Does not explain material well. He rambles on forever. Is insulting and disrespectful to students. Not much help at all, had a partner project and the partner wouldn't do the work, told the professor and he did not help at all. Avoid this professor at all costs.

Not helpful at all. Highly suggest taking another professor for this course. For our first couple speeches he didn't teach us anything. He just expected everyone to know certain material and very few kids earned good grades.
