You can tell this guy is really passionate about film. Really interesting to listen to. Lots of textbook use. Minimal participation. He stepped out halfway through our quarter which was a bummer. Would definitely take a class of his again.

Bob is a great professor. Take his history of film class. Its super easy, but also super interesting. Bob is an extremely intelligent dude, and certainly a movie buff on top of it! Wish he taught more classes as WCC. He gives 5 quizzes, all of which include a study sheet which will provide direct answers. Take his class, you wont regret it!

Lectures are interesting and easy to sit through. If he's not lecturing he's showing movie clips. Grades are based off of 5 small quizzes which are easy to study for with the study guides he gives. Just make sure to study, otherwise you won't do very good, its also the only homework you really need to do. The readings are optional.

Take this if you want an easy A. No HW, Essays or group project. He only grades you based on several exams and he gives you a study guide which is the questions of the test itself. His lectures are interesting and he has a vast knowledge of movies. However, his class is pretty long and its kinda hard to stay awake during his lecture sometimes.

If you're a Film buff you'll love this class, if you're only kinda into Film history -- you'll still love it. Lectures are insightful and interesting, the movies, while some are boring, get better as the class goes on. Bob's vast knowledge and charismatic demeanor make him fun to listen to and learn from. Quizzes are all multiple-choice easy A.

Really a nice guy, kept lectures and discussion interesting and was always willing to help. Good course as well. As others have said, he did tend to spend way to long explaining how to take a multiple choice test every single time though.

Bob is a great professor who's been there since from WCC's birth. He's very personable and understanding. I don't know how he is in other courses, but in Film he all but hands you the test answers. It is hard sometimes to stay awake, but film isn't for everyone. The only people I knew who didn't like him were the ones who never showed up to class.

The class was interesting, and he definitely knows a LOT about movies. However, he talks a lot during clips and movies, and will go over simple tasks such a how to take a multiple choice quiz again and AGAIN...it was infuriating, seeing as it's a college level class.

Winters is passionate and incredibly knowledgable about film. HOWEVER, I have never had a teacher repeat and reiterate the SIMPLEST of concepts SO MANY TIMES. He explained to us IN INFURIATING DETAIL, how to take a multiple choice test. I'm sure he is a wonderful man, but I wanted to tear my hair out during every class and will NEVER take another.

Very easy class, only 5 quizzes. He basically doesn't even have a grading scale. I just remember he told the class "just get really close to the number 20" when it came to the 20 multiple choice quiz he would give us. Very funny guy!

Probably knows every movie made and who stared it in it, who produced it and who directed it. You could win in a movie battle with him, He needs to step it up and teach at a legit school haha. Easy and fun class cause its in a theater room

Awesome teacher. So intelligent, really knows and loves film. His class is easy, but that does NOT imply lack of depth. Take one of his classes, you wont regret it. (and if you do regret it, there might be something wrong with you)

Second best teacher i had after spending seven quarters at whatcom. Took two classes with him and got good grades in both. He can talk and talk and talk and keep the class alert and listening the whole time. I wrote some of my most compelling essays in his Film Genres class, but i think i enjoyed his History of Film class more.

Bob is great. He loves film, and he knows A LOT about it because he group up around it an knows people that actually work in "the business." No tests for this class - you just have to write 5 papers, and he's a pretty easy grader as long as you meet the requirements. The class is pretty long, so make sure you have coffee or something.

Bob is a really passionate, articulate and helpful instructor. He obviously loves film and is really good at explaining things so that everyone understands it. I recommend this class for anyone who has even the slightest interest in film making/watching. Not an easy A but definitely one of the most interesting classes at WCC.

Mr Winters is a nice guy. Easy class, all you have to do is attend class, stay awake, and write five papers. Wish the class was a little shorter though, 2 1/2 hours is a long time for film.
