Attending Signals taught by him pulled the scales from my eyes. He taught concept before mechanics, and that was key for me to comprehend what this critical subject is about. Love the Doc forever for breaking this subject down. He was the best teacher there.

I had this guy back in 1989 and still have nightmares. Signals was hard enough without having this clown make it more confusing with his bizarre thought process. I was shocked to see nothings changed at Temple. I never questioned that he was a bright guy just shouldn't be teaching IMHO....avoid at all costs if you can

Okay, so here's the thing with Dr. Y...he is a fantastic professor...genuine, and eager to teach students...BUT he doesn't hold your hand in the class. That's why he's soo helpful, because you actually LEARN what he's teaching. No it's not easy, and yes he's a tough grader...but it's because he's passionate. Seriously consider Dr. Y...he's great.

Do all the assignments, participate and work hard and you'll be fine. He's not the easiest and it's also very unclear what he wants from most assignments but he's a nice guy and tries to make class fun. If he likes what you've written for something he'll give extra credit. Ask lots of questions!

Dr. Y is the sweetest old man I've met. If you look upset in class one day he will email you asking if everything is alright. His sense of humor is very enjoyable, and he gives candy for correct answers. I found the class really difficult but it was because Investing confuses me and I didn't do all the readings.

Dr. Y seems to struggle with a grading standard greatly. Grades on papers are unpredictable. And don't try asking him for what he's looking for (I don't think he knows) because he won't give you an answer. He wants you to think on your toes, but his plan backfires. However, if you go to class and show some initiative, you'll probably get a B.

If you want to genuinly learn in his class, you need to take the initiative; read the text, because he is most certainatly not going to hold your hand. This is why most freshmen hate him. Yantorno's a nice guy but a poor teacher. He sends you on a hunt to find readings to complete trivial homework assignments. My class with Yantorno is a waste of time and money. He makes 20 million handouts, 2 of which you actually use. This guy needs to get a TA, structure the course properly and/or retire.

This professor is the worst in the department, not helpful at all. Seems to care about the students but he does not. His classes are a waste of time. He makes the easiest topics look very hard and confusing. He tests what he has not taught. NEVER answers doubts, and you end up more confused than before. Wants to be like Dr. Butz, far from it.

Dr. Y is a pretty helpful guy if you get to know him. His style of teaching aims at getting you to discover things on your own, which some may mistake for a lack of help. You will learn what he is teaching you even if you don't realize it because he is a very good at getting the subject across to you with very little notes. Attend his office hours
