If you are a communications major, I would recommend professor Andersen, she is passionate, intelligent, and active in the field. Grades are based on 4 papers and participation. I actively participated and got A-'s on all the papers and wound up with a B+ in the class so she left a bad taste in my mouth.

Great teacher. You could tell she is accomplished and passionate about advertising. Funny, and a lecturer that can hold your interest! Very easy, but yet you LEARN A TON! Most I've ever learned in a class. So best of both worlds. Liberal politics, likes when you participate. One of my favorites. Gets you thinking about society, women's roles etc.

I consider myself a liberal but this class was almost hard to sit through. Between having to read her own book and dissect every part of it, and trying to figure out what she actually wanted us to do, it was a very long semester. Oh, and she's a mess.

attendance not mandatory, don't need to buy textbooks, super helpful if you ask her for sources/insight on papers, and yes you can get an A if you participate a few times and email her a few times during the semester... you actually learn valuable information too, without the hard work

Although she can be spacy and unorthodox, I truly enjoyed Professor Andersen. She made me loathe advertising but now I am able to really dissect advertising and understand the psychology behind it. The workload was very light yet I feel like I learned more from her than from other classes where I did a ton of work. Definitely would reccomend!

Multiple anecdotal accounts of honors/deans list students being dissatisfied with their final grade. Better students shy away: donĂ¢€™t expect an A.

ARBITRARY GRADER (Easy B+, but don't expect anything above that.) Subject matter was self-evident and the frequent tangental diatribes were dull and tiresome. Overall, a boring and useless course. (Why do all the positive comments appear to be written by the same person?)

Professor Andersen is a lot of fun. She's pretty entertaining when she's up there and is really nice and helpful in office hours. Be careful though, she can be a hard grader on her assignments. We had four papers due all semester, that's it. Really knows her stuff too!

Dr Andersen is one of the funniest and most entertaining teachers I've had at Fordham. Workload is light and she's a fair grader. Her classes are never dull. She's so informed about the media and politics, and will teach you a lot about how this country is really run.Very liberal, but open to opinions.

"although feminist at times.." is this a bad thing? anyway, she definitely has an extreme liberal bias, which leaves you wondering about the other side of issues.
