Professor Colby is disorganized. She is unclear on her high expectations, but then gets mad when you do not meet them. I've had her give me feedback on papers, and then on the final paper dock me points for the things that she changed. She also single people out in class. Do not take her if you don't have a friend to laugh about it with.

Brit Lit was surprisingly easy but I did have to work for the grade. I always felt awkward at her office hours and it wasn't that helpful to go to her one-on-one, but she gives a lot of leeway and extra credit because she gets that a lot of people are just taking it for the gen ed. Also she is adorable and perfect and kind and that's always a plus.

Dr. Colby rocks-- had her for ENG 111 and ended up loving the class (but I still hate English)! Her book choices can be a little dry at times (until you get into them) but she tries very hard to make the class enjoyable.

Dr. Colby is a great teacher. Although she can be pretty tough, she is very nice and caring and willing to help you if you need it. I improved my grammar score by almost 30 points in her class. When you write papers, make sure you go over them VERY carefully and check for grammar errors.

While a nice teacher, I found Dr. Colby to be very challenging. I was a little upset to get a B after passing two AP English exams with a 3 and a 4. I wouldn't choose her again, but I had an overall good experience with her. I wish I had visited the Learning Center and her office more.

Dr. Colby is a tough lady. She grades hard but is eager to help students suceed. I reccomend this class, I have a much better feel for writing. Don't expect her to help with grammer as she is a literature and writing teacher. Go to the learning center. Super nice! It is very difficult to get an A
