He is really easy to like as a person- I think he has so much love in his heart and passion. I wish he would work on communicating more of what his expectations are for this course. Most people are in their final years and need good grades for grad school. Please help us out. I do really like Robin though just a little upset this course.

Really nice guy. His lectures are really boring and his exams reflect nothing he covers nor are they compliant with his study guides. He is not straight forward in what he expect for exams. I think he needs to improve on this because they are unfair. Tell students what they need to know without the extra unnecessary filler stuff and surprises.

Get ready to doze! I kept falling asleep in class. I really did not have a great time in this class, the textbook was horrible (openstax) and this professor was not for me. Too much lecture, not enough clarity into what I was expected to know. Lots of content, resulting in anxiety and stress... BLAH

I wouldn't want to take evolutionary biology with any other prof. Robin's assignments require a bit of prep, especially the lab assignments, but if you dedicate a couple of hours a day this will be a very straight forward class.

Robin is the sweetest old English man. He loves bumblebees so much and just wants to try to help you love biology. His class was EXTREMELY easy. Definitely a GPA booster, and very easy to pass. Our final exam was open-book. He offered me a place in his 3000-level course because I participated in class, even though I'd never taken bio before this.

Robin Owen is a nice person and very passionate about his area of study, but not a very good proff. His classes usually feel very long and juice less. Textbook is a must as there will be mindtap assignments every week. Goodluck!

Robin is a super nice guy, however, I was struggling to get by. Assignments weekly on Mindtap that took at least a couple hours and his lectures were very dry with occasional iClicker questions for marks. Don't take this class if you can't absorb info with the mention of it once. Both the classes with Robin had the lowest midterm marks.

Robin is a very helpful prof who cares about his students. His tests are based on what he teaches you so there are no surprises. Some days can be a little slow and boring but he is still a great professor and I would most certainly take another class with him.

While Robin is a very nice person and is more than willing to accommodate you in any way that he can, I did not like him as a prof. He went very slowly through the course material and I consistently felt that we were behind. We didn't even finish all of the material! His voice tended to put me to sleep. Try to avoid, but not the worst if needed.

Robin is a great prof who wants you to succeed more than anything. He makes it clear continuously throughout the semester that he will accomodate you in any way that he can; you need only ask. He is so kind and caring and you can tell he genuinely loves teaching. He's one of the best profs I have had in my university career - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Robin is one of the nicest professors at Mount Royal. He is extremely helpful and more than fair teacher. His midterms are fair. His lectures can get boring at times but he does his best to teach you the material. He always has a smile on his face. He loves his bees

A truly lovely professor who is inspiring because he is so passionate about the world of science. Draws important connections from a variety of areas to course topics which I found refreshing. Very clear and reasonable expectations and a more than fair marker.

His lectures were really dry, consisted of him pretty much reading his Powerpoint slides. He loves biology (especially bees) but the class is kind of boring. Was very clear about what would be on exams.

The teacher is pretty good. He explains stuff well. But the negative aspect about being in Robin's class is that all the students feel very bored and not lively. The reason behind it is that there is absolutely No student participation. But his notes and lectures are well prepared. So hats off to that.

Approachable, flexible, helpful. The way he presents the material make it seem so easy. It's funny how he waves his laser around a little too much. Sometimes, he tries to find the right words so he pauses a lot. Good prof.
