Professor Kessler is the first writing professor I have had in 3 years that has actually taught me anything about writing. He is patient and really cares about his students.

This is by far the best english class I have ever taken. He cares so much about his students and has a passion for what he does. My writing has improved, and the work he assigns is mostly informal writing, which you share anonymously with the class. Best professor ever.

Rod is an adorable old man. He is a fabulous teacher who loves writing, loves being creative and loves helping his students. On the last day of his class he brought in munchkins and juiceboxes! He is extremely understanding for absences that are due to illness or family matters. Only one short story due at the end & poems along the way.

This man is a sensational person and professor. Even at other schools I've attended, rarely have I witnessed someone with such dedication and focus to his students as Rod Kessler. I came into this course with no regular fiction writing routine. Rod completely changed my understanding of the genre and provided excellent coaching and feedback along the way. I would recommend his course to beginning and or preexisting fiction writers that would like to challenge themselves and work with an extremely encouraging professor.
