I had some scheduling conflicts and asked for an "I" which he granted. He only taught the class in the spg. the following spring I attempted to retake the class to eliminate the "I", He went to central america to finish a book, time limit expired, I ended up with an "F", the school wouldn't change the grade and he wouldn't lift a finger.

Alverez is a great teacher, its the subject thats boring. If you like LAH stuff you'll love this class. You'll never find anyone who knows more about this stuff or thats willing to explain and disscuss. He emails all notes and gives study guides. Talk to your adviser - if you want LAH take Alvarez..

CONSTANTLY OFF TOPIC...Ridiculously boring, I'm a history major and I just wasn't interested ...unfortunately he is practically the only LAH teacher so if you are a history major you either have to take him or you go into a different field of study

The tests are easy but his study guides are impossible. We had 10 essays and 65 terms to study and then the test was simple. He emails the notes but its like 50 pages per test. It's really hard to understand I woul not take another class with him.
