Comment:

Rod Cook is a great guy. He cares, he's kind, and he's always there to help. However, this is not an entry level drawing class. If you have no drawing experience and aren't naturally gifted with drawing, this is an extremely difficult class. For this kind of student, the assignments will take ages to finish and getting an A is out of the question.

Comment:

Very nice teacher, always willing to help. He lets you redo any assignment up until the end of the semester even if you already turned them in. He will have a lot to say about your work during critiques but everything is constructive. You will work with all kinds of materials really learn a lot from his classes. I definitely recommend him.

Cook is crazy which can make the drawn out class entertaining. He is a very hard critique but dont take it personally. There is no book, no tests. He only collects assignments at midterm and final for grades. He will also come up to you and draw all over your paper to "fix" it. Out of everyone else, take him for drawing

Very helpful, However the work load can be overwhelming with other classes. Hes a very hard crit. So if your sensitive prepare to be hurt by what he says about your work. But his grades aren't too tough.

His painting class was challenging. The assignments were ok if you like doing still lifes the entire semester. He knows what he;s talking about but he is really terrible when it comes to crits. Very very very negative. He's a pretty cool guy, though. I would say I'm neutral, but if you can avoid taking him, I would.

i really liked him. he may seem a little hard but he isnt that challenging. he just wants you to come to class and try your best. he is really nice and will understand if you miss class once or twice, but if you miss class sometimes its hard to understand what was done. but hes a great guy and can be really fun.
