He is a good guy.. But you pretty much have to teach your self in this class after the first half of the semester. Tests are sort of easier but they are long which makes it harder..

Comment:

Great energetic old guy. He's been teaching stats so long that he could write the problems on the board in his sleep. This causes some frustration among students who don't get it. The key to doing well in his class is taking good notes on his example problems because tests are open note open book and draw from the examples he gives in class.

Erickstad is a great guy--understanding--and personally, I find him very amusing. I would agree that his teaching method is not always clear, but he is interested in his field and generaly dedicated to helping students.

Very confusing and not very helpful. He thinks he is hilarious, but is not at all. He spends most of the time on rabbit trails and not on material. He hates calculators and those who rely on them.

Mr E is cool. If you need help go talk to him. If you never ask him anything, you'll probably fail. Do the homework, and learn TYPES of problems and how to recognize them. SQA is easier than stats.

One of the best teachers I've had in my entire academic career. Roger Erickstad is very likely the reason that I was encouraged and enabled to earn a Ph.D. from one of the best engineering schools in the world.

This guy knows his stuff. He's been doing stat a long time and he's good at it. I enjoyed his upper level classes a lot, they were challenging. He assigns fair and helpful homework. Tests are very fair, but not necessarily easy. Great guy.

One of the best profs. at the school. He know's fully what he is talking about, but unlike a lot of prof's he still willing to help you if you need it. He will also pass anyone with at least a D if they put in the effort, regardless of the result.
