Roger Grant is one of the most wonderful teachers that you will come across in your studies. He is kind and thoughtful to every degree. Slacker students that do not want to learn and work should not take this class. Roger rewards students who do more than he asks. Remember that you are doing this work for a purpose. No busy work. Great prof!! Rocks

Oh my gosh, Grant is so boring. All you want to do is get through class and look at everyone's images, but he's so slow and gets off topic all the time that it really is the most frustrating thing ever. I learned some good photographic skills I guess, but the classroom sucked.

Extremely long winded and likes to repeat the same boring stories for every class, so try not to take all his classes at once. Classes are somewhat informative, though in my experience he gives better grades to people whose style is closer to his own than those who branch out and actually do something different...

Challenging and insightful, Grant shares his enthusiasm for all aspects of filmmaking, introducing students to his favorite non-genre realism film. The labs are great, the only thing missing is the popcorn.

The complete opposite of the other half of the photo dpt. his classes make you work, but if you take the time to do it you will learn a great deal. Not the most exciting guy, but he is a great photographer who has lots to impart on those willing to learn

He's dry. Most of his photographs are of statues and buildings. Still, he's fair. Our styles conflict, but he's a decent guy. You will put a lot of work and money into these clases(usually under $100, though).

Roger is a highly intelligent guy with a great sense of formal beauty and classic taste. His classes may be a bit dry but he does a good job. Getting through the labs and actually DOING the work is what hurts people.

The photography department at UW-L is good. I don't like that the class sizes are getting to be so large, but he's a good prof.
