This professor is honestly the worst prof I've ever had. His lectures are boring, and he's turned a topic that I love into one that puts me to sleep. He reads directly from his notes in monotone, and it's hard to follow what he's talking about. Nothing is posted online either, so you have to go to class. Every day I struggle to pay attention

Hands down the best professor at Carleton! If you are an art history student - or have an interest in the field - TAKE HIS CLASSES! He has extremely interesting lectures and never fails to inject humour into his classes. His class on the Occult and Symbolism in Art is the best course at the school. I love the Mez.

My favourite professor! He is a veritable well of knowledge and insight, and he has such a witty sense of humor. Mesley has fine tuned lecturing to perfection. I try to take as many of his classes as I can. I wish all professors could be like him.

Excellent professor, my one complaint is that he only teaches about artists he likes. Example: in French Impressionism there was nothing about Renoir. For the artists he does teach, he is very thourough and he's kinda funny.
