He is one of my favorite professors. Does he have his problems.. of course. Who doesn't? He truly cares about his students. He challenges you to do your best. If he picks on you he truly cares about you. Although he wouldn't admit it in front of anyone else. He sees potential in his students and takes the time to help you achieve what you want todo

I've taken Larson three times in the past and I'm planning on taking him again next semester. He's definitely one of my favorite professors! He makes each thing you learn about relatable to real-life. You know why it's important to learn the subject matter & just may walk away with a few life lessons too. If he teases you, that means he likes you!

Do not take him if you don't have to. He was an okay teacher, but very biased, as the class was very large and he split up the grading between himself and helpers so he gave better grades to students in his group. When the class was over for the semester I was given a wrong final grade, when I went to talk to him about it he acted as if I was in the wrong and said some things a professor should never say to a student. He ended up making me cry. I did end up getting my grade rightfully changed once he finally realized I was in the right, but he was very rude and degrading. Be careful of him. In the class he seemed nice, but once he is outside, he is a horrible and careless person. What happened to me should never happen to anybody.

Comment:
The course I took had 200+ students, so it's understandable that help is a bit scarce. He's pretty gentle with how he grades speeches, as he looks for effort rather than perfection. Being online, I would definitely recommend for those shy speakers who require this course.

I lost sleep, overdosed on caffeine, and forgot to eat because of this class, but I still recommend it. I cried because I got a B, but I still recommend it. Larson is the only professor in the Comm Dept to actually challenge students. Expect to work hard and surprise yourself.

Larson may be a communications teacher, but it can be a real pain to get him to respond to your emails! He's a nice enough guy, but I feel like none of the info on the quizzes is ever covered in class, which sucks when it comes to the online quizzes! The quizzes can be really tough, and you spend most of the time searching the book for answers!

I attended all his lectures and did not even read the ebooks and did my speeches. I got a b for all that. He gives out a lot of extra credit. He's a very helpful and clear professor if you email him, he would email you back asap. He made fun of a lot of football fans but it was nothing serious. I liked his class. He is very straightforward though.

I took his hybrid class and it was fun if you came to class, because days that there was low attendance he would give extra credit. He was very clear on what our speeches needed to have and I liked that he used videos in his presentations. He also makes a lot of funny jokes to start off the class period which lightened to mood of this class.

He was the worst professor I have ever taken. He is rude to all of his students, and you can never tell when he is joking or when he is serious. And half the time you never know when something is due because he constantly changes his mind. Don't take him unless you have no other choice.

I took Larson's Oral Comm and Human Comm classes, and they were easy. At first I was terrified in Oral Comm because I hate giving speeches, but he made the class funny and always tried to help you improve.I would recommend him anytime.

Very energetic! Fun! You will lose one percentage point for every class you miss. You don't want to miss anyway, Larson is great! Let's you speak your mind and there's a lot of student interaction. Don't be shy! Very fun and gives everyone a fair chance to say what they want! Read book toward the end of the year, there will be quizzes!

Larson is wonderful. He is incredibly easy to understand, helpful and understand about life situations. I had a terrible group for my group project and he made sure I still got my grade. Fun class, he makes the boring subject interesting.

Hyperactive, fun, very opinionated. Interested in his students. Not an easy class but any effort is rewarded. He is the debate coach, so he wants you to prove your point if you make one. Steelers fan. All extra credit comes from Monty Python movies.

Good teacher. I had him a couple of semesters ago and he does make you do speeches but the longest one was only about 5 minutes or so. Because of that class, I'm not shy anymore talking in front of a lot of people. I would reccommend this teacher to anyone. Even though he'll make fun of you he is still cool.

I've taken him for speech and intro to communication and I loved his classes. He does demand a lot out of you, but he makes his classes fun and you definately improve a lot more than when you first started. He's very personable too, and he tries to get to know everyone in the class. And I didn't mind starting out with a C, because by the end I had an A and I dont' hate giving speeches anymore. I actually decided to go into communications because of Kelly......He's really great, everyone should take him.
