I had a great time in this class. As long as you come to class and do your best drawing whatever objects he has set up for the day, you will do fine. He gives great feedback on your pieces as well. There is a sketchbook including many drawings due at midterm, so dont procrastinate on it like I did. Overall, Im glad I took his class!

I took Professor Whitridge for both Art 110 & Art 130 ( 2D design and Painting 1). Hes is by far the easiest Professor I ever had. Just show up in class and turn in your assignments and everything will be fine. Hes respected and cares about his students a lot:) His classes have a very calm atmosphere just right for an Art class��good luck

The quizzes in this class are fairly easy as long as you pay attention to the lectures and take notes. It is an art history class. Every class period is 90% lecture.

Comment:

Definitely take his 'Color & Design: 2D' class over any other teacher. If you're good at painting and know about paints and brushes, you can take other professors. But as someone with no knowledge of painting, this class was the better option. Only the final was a painting. The rest of the class was drawing and inking in black and white. Recommend.

I have learned so much in this class, not only about drawing and learning to like drawing with a pencil,or different pencils, but this professor is amazing if you have time to sit and chat with him. He's the most intelligent, down to earth professor I've experienced having, and I would take all of his classes if I could. Roger is an amazing person.

Very very easy. No textbook use. If you can't get an A in this class, you probably shouldn't be taking college level courses.Don't have to be artistic, just put in effort.He is a nice guy, but the lectures are VERY long and he uses the word "curious" in the wrong way. Drove me crazy.If someone had an interesting project he says "oh this is curious"

I had him for 2D and Painting 1. One of my favorite art professors at OCC. He's really knowledgable about art and has a really good eye. He is very helpful if you ask him! If you come to class everyday, work hard, show interest and ask questions, he will appreciate that about you, trust me!

Really interesting class. You get to learn a lot about art that you thought you knew, but had no idea. Projects are fun to do. Gives a good amount of extra credit such as the film review which was cool. Always lets petitioners in.

Always lets petitioners in! GREAT PROFESSOR. Not only do you learn a lot about art but you will learn he has much insight to offer outside of the art realm. He is passionate about what he teaches and it is contagious. A very pleasant class to take! This was my first art class and i loved it!

You don't have to be an artist to take his classes. I love that he fosters creativity in his students while providing great feedbacks and constructive criticisms. He may not necessarily share the same aestheticism as me, but he still encouraged my style which I truly appreciated.

Nice teacher. He doesnt do favoritism either so that's good. If you are ok-good at drawing, you will get a good grade. Especially if you work hard and finish all of your work and do a clean job, you'll easily get an A. I got a B+ but that was my fault. Do your work on time!

Easy going really cares. Very positive and encouraging. When he is very specific when evaluating your art work. You know what works and what to improve and how to improve it. I learn so much by listening to him.
