As a student in my 30's I understood his approach to teaching and it's effective. The younger students that didn't learn anything lacked either initiative or probably needed to repeat a lower psych. Great mentor!

If you want to learn something about developmental psychology, forget about it. He talks in circles about the same things every day. Before this semester started, I was so excited to take this class and by the second week I was dying for it to be over. There is no point to this class. I love psychology and had high hopes only to be let down.

Mr. Havis Is the easiest teacher I have ever had. He never gave homework and only gave group quizzes so you don't have to study that much for them. I only read the text book on the first five days of school and I ended up passing. You don't learn a thing in his class due to his easiness, luckily my major is business and not psychology or psychiatry

Havis is ridiculous and there's no point in coming to class. He rambles. only came a few times in the semester and just turned in my paper at the end and got a B. It seems as if he grades off of favorites, which is frustrating. If you want an easy A and not to learn take this class.

Dr. Havis is a wonderful professor, He answers all your questions, and is very patient, understanding & cares about his students. He has a wonderful sense of humor but it does not effect his ability to teach. He is such a outstanding teaching that I am taking his class again for General Psychology next semester.

Simply amazing!!! I can truly say that taking a class with Dr. Havis is the BEST decision you will ever make. No real work to speak of - just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! He teaches psychology through examples, stories, and real-world issues instead of all the textbook nonsense. He's quite a character too and will really get you laughing!
