The homework is alright. You get to check your answers a bunch of time, but, all of that is just 10 percent of your grade for the semester. The tests effect your grade more. They are pretty hard and you have to memorise alot of formulas. Also, sometimes the lectures in class don't help with the homework. He doesn't always do enough examples.

Cooper is a good guy, but disorganized. His lecture notes have no labels on what numbers are. His notes are done either in Excel or he has you write what he demonstrates on a hand-out. Didn't use the book, except to get homework problems. Take pictures of a friend's book and find the statements online. Only 3 exams and some HW for grades.

He is my absolute favorite teacher, borderline of all time. He is extremely helpful with any questions you have and he designs his notes, classwork, and homework with the objective of you understanding the concepts so you can do well on the exams. His humor is also an added bonus because it keeps class alive and moving. Hoping I can get him again.

I loved him as a teacher! He is super nice and wants you to succeed so don't be afraid to ask for help. All his lectures are done through excel, he posts the notes online, and if you do the homework and show up to class you'll pass.

His notes are awful. He uses Excel and speeds through it. He is easily distracted by small things, half the time his class is just review from something on the notes the class before. His exams are super hard and you have to memorize a lot.

I had him for the first part of ACC 605. He is very good at thoroughly getting the point across. Not much homework. Gave us a good review for the first exam. Not an accounting major, or I could have gotten a higher grade with him and the other guy who taught the rest of the course. Either way, I liked both instructors.

Very good professor. Make things very easy to understand. He doesn't really use the book except for homework but the book can be found used for cheap. The exams are very easy and basically homework problems. I took the course during Summer and he cancelled the group project but in Fall/Winter you can also expect a group project.

The first test is a doozy because you aren't really sure what to expect. The next 2 tests are pretty easy if you study correctly. Make sure you memorize the layout of the problems and all equations. He uses his examples on the tests but will tweek them slightly. Overall, very helpful if you need it and easy to relate to real life.

Test are nothing like the notes or practice problems. He puts things on the exams that he has never shown you how to do in class. Grades certain students differently than others and makes you compare exams and argue for the points back instead of using a grading rubric.

He was a great guy, and really understood his subject. Could tend to get side-tracked, and he did teach very quickly. Could be a tough grader.

I took him for ACC 241. The homework is all on Connect, and some you have to do on Excel. All of his lectures and examples are given through Excel. There are 4 computer projects (our class only did 3 though), homework every week, and 3 exams, 25% each. Attendance is necessary to pass. Study the lecture notes and Connect homework, you'll be fine.

If you are not an accounting major, this course can be slightly daunting. Rolland does not do many notes, but rather shows a lot of examples using excel. He gives 3 large slightly tough exams, and a good amount of homework. Plus 3-4 computer projects. Pay attention and participate, and you should be okay. No book needed, but you need online Connect

Hilarious professor, must focus in class in order to pass. Go to class everyday, do homework, study not so hard then A is a piece of cake. I wish he could teach other finance classes here as well. Easy to understand

Currently in this class, but it is registration time so I wanted to give my input now. He is a great professor and has made accounting have personality. The tests are easier than the homework and class work. Tells you what to expect on the test. Be sure to use 5 digits of accuracy and give good information and numbers in the writing parts of test.

Excellent instructor. The ONLY acc class I took that was enjoyable. Uses humor & current business chat to keep the class engaged. Very fair grader. Will answer all questions, will even stop & repeat- very helpful, just ask. Lectures in a style anyone can understand. Took this over 6 wk summer semester. I highly recommend Mr. Cooper for ACC 605

Professor Cooper is an excellent teacher. His exams require you to have a solid understanding of the material so if you don't, you won't do well. Very helpful and willing to explain things outside of class. Not the easiest classes but you learn A LOT from him. Definitely take as many classes as you can with him!!

This is not an easy class, but Professor Cooper is very helpful and if you do the practice problems you'll do decently well on the exams. The homework is graded on completion and the projects are insanely easy. I'd definitely recommend him.

Professor Cooper is a very tough teacher to have. He goes very quickly through his lectures and is very misleading to what is going to be on exams (which are your whole entire grade). I advise do your connect homework, but don't rely on connect to study for exams.
