My favorite professor so far. His lectures were very engaging and made me want to study German. His pronounciation was very easy to understand. He made the class pass by so fast!

Very awesome professor. Very passionate about his work (I mean he makes tons of money teaching, who wouldn't be?). Assigns a lot of reading and writing (100W), but easily doable if you just try a little bit. If you want an A in his class, you definitely need to work hard for it.

Dr. Sabalius is extremely helpful and cares for his students. His class is really fun and enjoyable. If you want to learn German, definitely take his class because in addition to being a native German speaker, Dr. Sabalius is extremely clear and makes the class fun and enjoyable.

Professor Sabalius IS THE BEST. He is so helpful. He helped me out so much and actually works with his students and cares about them. Yes the content of this class is somewhat difficult ,but if you attend class everyday ,show interest ,do all the work you should be fine. This teacher is genuinely a great teacher and learned alot.

I highly recommend Professor Sabalius..He is extremely intelligent, witty and charismatic. He will poke fun at you in class, but it all relates back to learning. One of the best classes I have taken @ SJSU. He makes learning GERMAN fun!!

Very nice guy and a really good teacher. He will tease you a bit but it's all in good fun. You will probably have a 20 person class and will pick up your name in a week. Jokes around a lot but when it comes to learning, he does a good job. Tests are hard but easy if you study.

He's really funny, but will be hard on you in class. Even though he's hard in class, he grades pretty nicely on tests. Everyone got better grades than they thought they would. Go to every class and you won't get picked on as much.

Took him in sprin 2002. sabalius is cool. Was very hard since he teaches in straight german, but if you want to learn that is the way to go. SHould have had him for German 1A, so that I could be better at the language.
