Um, well, what can I say. Super boring. Makes an interesting topic really not interesting. Outs his students to sleep and thinks he knows best. Avoid is possible.

unorganized lectures that are not very relevant and are very confusing. Easy marker, you can B.S. your way through the exams as long as you were in class listening to him talk - readings and lectures are very dry and hard to follow - if you don't have to take the class avoid it

He is such a sweetheart because he provides so much material to students and he always makes time for students. He actually emails students and ask if they need help or accommodations. Unfortunately I could not understand anything he was saying and I was confused and lost, it was a challenging class. I did very well surprisingly

This professor is very intelligent and obviously knows a lot about his subjects, but needs to do more lesson planning. If you're taking this class make sure you do all the readings, show up every day, are attentive in his classes, and definitely ask questions. This is not an easy grade, but it is super interesting stuff.

Its amazing to me. This is one of the most intresting subjects one could teach but, I have never heard anything taught so awful in my life. There is no structure whatsoever, and the text is very boring. Any class on globalization that does not talk about events that have taken place after the year 2000, isnt worth taking. Avoid!

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! This is the worst prof i have ever encountered. His lectures have no structure and he makes no sense what so ever. He drowns you with reading and even if you do all the reading you will have no idea what you are supposed to be learning. JUST DON'T DO IT!

I am a second year student and I showed up to EVERY class, it is mandatory to show up everyday. Good prof if you listen attentively and do the readings. You have to work for your grade in this class. When your finished, you will have a totally different view on Canada.

Ron Bourgeault is everything that you hear. Dull, boring, jumps all over, never sticks to the subject being discussed. Patronizing to students and in some cases outright rude. His famous quotes include: "Listen up you guys" "You have to figure this out for yourselves" and the most famous "you have to read between the lines!"

Took this class in the summer (6wks) and it was DRY DRY DRY! Although this is listed as a 2nd yr class, avoid taking it as a 2nd yr student. I am a 4th+ yr and I found it difficult to keep up with the extreme amounts of readings!! His lectures are very scattered & it is very hard to keep notes. Readings are MANDATORY!!

Took this class in 4th year of dbl major in PSCI&SOC, this was one of the most challenging classes I ever took. You must do all readings without exception and if you do you will come out of this class with a completely new perspective on Canada's evolution. If you're not in your final year though I would avoid until then because you're not ready.

Most preceding comments are by students who are early 20 somethings. They were not yet around long enough to appreciate recent Canadian/world history. I took this class as a 41 year old and I remember events EXACTLY as how he described them. This was the MOST RELEVANT and EXCELLENT class that I have taken during my tour at the U of R! Thanks Ron!!!

He's very rude when asked any type of questions. He won't give you any idea of what is on the exams. He doesn't talk loud enough. Off topic, dry readings, too many readings, unclear lectures, all over the place. If you have any respect for yourself, don't take the class. This prof will ultimately make you go into depression.

The class content and readings were great, but unfortunately the teacher has a hard time connecting his thoughts for an audience. He is very knowledgable, but isn't meant to teach. I did great in the class because I challenged myself to work hard and loved the material, but if self-discipline isn't your thing, I suggest taking another class.

Do not take this class from this man. His classes are torture to sit through. He is boring and monotone. He doesn't explain anything. He is the worse instructor I have ever encountered. He says he doesn't like to give the end of class evaluation b/c students are too synical, gee I wonder why?
