Comment:

Burgess is an amazing teacher. He makes Spanish fun and teaches it in a way that is easy to pick up and learn. Class is everyday which sucks, but you can get away with a couple skips. Tests are easy if you pay attention but the small class sizes makes participation a must. No textbook required! Overall its a fun class and an easy A.

Amazing professor. Very funny, in Spanish 355 assigns interesting though provoking readings that will not overwhelm you. Assigns a fair amount of work and is not anal about things as some others in the Spanish department are at Gettysburg. Very caring, very understanding, and just a really cool guy who happens to be a great teacher as well.

Care about everyone and wants people to actually leave the room leaving Spanish, he's not a guy who just collects a pay check and doesn't care if students learn the material, he wants everyone to learn. And he is the best professor I've had with helping students . My fav prof!

Professor Burgess is the BEST teacher!!! I was so nervous about taking a language and always struggled with spanish until taking his class- i love it and have learnt so much! The class meets 5 times a week and I LOVED every class!!!

BEST TEACHER. If you're taking any Spanish classes, TRY TRY TRY to get Burgess! He is so much fun in class and really helps the students learn. The focus isn't as much on written assignments as it is on what information you retain on a day-to-day basis.

Despite the fact that I hate morning classes (and I had his every single morning), his class was absolutely my favorite! It's important to attend every class, but the workload outside of class is minimal and you learn so much!! I highly recommend taking this class!

Prof. Burgess was the best Spanish professor I could have hoped for when taking 101 & 102. He's incredibly enthusiastic about his intro level Spanish courses, and finds ways to help you remember the info. I went in not being able to speak a word of Spanish, and after even one semester, I could prob. carry on a conversation. Take a class with him.

I've never had Spanish in my life - and I had him for my whole first year of it. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT THIS TEACHER. He is so helpful, so fun, and makes you love Spanish even if you are DETERMINED to hate languages. He's awesome, and the best teacher I've had in any department.

i don't like language at all, but he was the best teacher i've ever had. made things as easy as possible and was always trying to develop new ways for students to learn. take his classes if you can. made me want to go to spanish rather than dread it. really cared about his students and what they were doing outside of class. an awesome guy!!!
