I had Harrell for the Infinity FS last year. I did not see him as boring or hard at all. He was really happy whenever someone came to see him in his office for help (not many people did)and he made everything very clear. He was really excited about the topic with his little smile everytime he proved a point.

He is very organized in his teachings and always upbeat, which helps getting through the long 50 minutes. Harrell is a VERY tough grader, though, and the last test only 6 people out of 26 got A's and B's. I am learning a lot in his class but by his tests, you wouldn't know it!

math = #'s not words. I missed 2 points because instead of the i put these in a definition. It did not change the meaning of the definition it just wasnt as it was in the book. He did help me somewhat but most of the time I felt like he didnt help me enough. I was a math major coming into Alleg, and now I'm not because of him, Nice guy though.

calc shouldn't be about memorizing theorems... it should be about applying them! does NOT like to help people, and his tests are awful... i got straight a's in ap calc, and a d in his class... just because i couldn't state things word for word!

if you don't understand math and you're in Harrell's class, there aren't many ways to get help. Harrell wrote the text, so there's no 'second opinion' effect, he is not patient if you visit his office hours or if you're confused/not very smart about math.
