Comment:
Dr. Horton is a brilliant scholar. His logic is excellent, although his communication skills I suspect were once much better. You cannot reason with the man on anything related to English since he did write the book on the subject. I transferred from a school that did not utilize MLA format and he made me buy his book so my margins would be correct

If you have an average reading and listening comprehension level and put it to good use, you will learn an immense amount from this man. He is an unbelievably brilliant thinker AND communicator. I am disgusted with the totally disrespectful and pointless comments in one or two of the posts--how pathetic.

Hands down the most brilliant professor there, even if his lectures wandered sometimes. His Critical Writing class is the most important in the school. I owe most of my sucess in law to what I learned from him.

One of the most brilliant people on the planet. He ranks with the intelectuals he teaches about everyday. Though his nonverbals can be distracting, every statement is distilled and profound. Weighty matters are made understandable and the petty is brought to new light. Take a Horton class while you can. This man is a jewel of the University.

He really needs to retire. He wasn't very helpful despite frequent trips to his office and it felt like pulling teeth to get help from him. He refused to admit the times that he said or did something wrong or wasn't clear on directions.

Took several classes with him. He's a real sweet heart- but unless you are as intelligent as he is, or enjoy picking through the brillant and boring comments- not great.

Curious, the great dresser reference, was that speaking of his Chalk Dusting that he gave himself everyday in class? Really his was a nice old man. He did try to help as much as he could, it just didn't always make sense.

He wrote the book and he knows it. He just can't get it across to everybody, or anybody for that matter.
